The donut sod cutter sold in the store is not the same as the one pictured online. The one online is the one I used for 20 years before the welds broke. I bought the new one at the store which looks like the same one Orbit has under their brand. The T handle bent the first time I went to use it, I didn't even get one completed, so I returned the product.
On the positive side Home Depot customer service took the product back without a problem and gave me a full refund.
Home depot needs to sell the one pictured on the website and not the replacement version at the store.

I rate this product poor.
Product broke in my hand on first use. The point of failure was handle joint. I think this product should be replaced.

Living in Florida for the last 11 years, I broke my third donut sod cutter. The handle twists after repeated use. They should make one with a more sturdy handle and shaft.

Product don't seem that sturdy to do sod cutting and twisting. Hole cut is to large.

Excellent product! You must use this product like a shovel, working around the circle with foot pressure, Done this way it performs very well. Reviewers that have broken it were trying to use it from the T-handle, which is not strong enough to twist or push down from. Use it right and you will have no issues.

Not for anything but the lightest duty. Handle broke at the T-bar handle weld. Had to return after cutting just a few locations. Cutter part worked well. just couldn't take any pressure on the handle weld.

First trick to this tool is make sure your lawn is wet, that helps alot. Second trick is make sure you buy 2. The first one is going to twist at the handle weld. I only had to make 8 holes for my sprinklers. By the time I got to the 4th hole, I had to handle with care and did most of it by hand. If I can find a model that is sturdier and won't twist in my hands I'll buy it.

I should have listened to the other reviews. I thought "How bad can it be?" This sod "cutter" couldn't cut cooked pasta. I returned it the next day. Don't waste your time or money.
