Answer:
If you have an LED bulb that can be used in damp spaces that is a replacement for incandescent bulbs, it will work in the standard Broan 744. The FL and LED models have sockets for pin-type bulbs, not regular thread-based sockets.

Answer:
Install instructions state:Light / Fan must use an R30 / BR30 Max. 75W bulb (PAR30L or
PAR30LN Max. 75W bulb for use over bath tub and shower) -
recessed into ceiling.
As long as you do not exceed the recommended wattge for a particular fixture, you can use wattage up to that limit LED BULB.

Answer:
The bulb that comes with the unit cannot be used with a dimmer switch, and if you wire the fan and light on the same switch it cannot be a dimmer switch. You may be able to buy a different light bulb that would work on a dimmer switch, but this unit has a pin-type socket instead of a standard threaded bulb socket.

Answer:
HI, Sally. This unit can NOT be used with a dimmer, or speed control switch. Not all motors are compatible with that type of switch. However, If you'd like to find out more about fans that can be used with a speed control, please dial 888-336-6151 and out Technical Support Group will be happy to assist. Thanks, again.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet, functional fan Very quiet fan that works and looks great! We installed this fan/light in our shower. We have been using this fan for a year now and are really pleased! October 22, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by AVOID Home Depot does not carry the bulbs for this. You have to order them online for $14 plus shipping each. The fluorescent bulb is separate from the fluorescent starter, which will also go out in less than a year. The fluorescent starter is $50.32 plus shipping and is not covered by the one year warranty. The fan is quiet and works well. Spending over seventy bucks a year for a 14 watt light is what your in for if you buy this though. January 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good for small rooms but cannot keep up with long hot shower We have an 8x8 bathroom with shower. We put this directly above the shower in hopes it would reduce the condensation on the mirrors when taking a shower. The bottom line is that this works well for a quick shower, but this is in our kids' bathroom which means long, hot showers. It cannot keep up with anything more than a quick adult shower. I think for those you need a fan with larger outflow and minimum of 100cfm. Otherwise, this thing is good for utility rooms or minor stuff. Do not expect it to keep up with a shower that has many repeated users. Also, it's too quiet for a guest restroom where someone may want to hide sounds. October 20, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by NEED OTHER LIGHT SOURCE I am a remodeler by trade and was surprised that I had not seen this product before. I am redoing my bathroom and thought this would be a sleek alternative to a standard fan and eliminate my need for a vanity light (which are so often ugly and do not compliment a modern look). Unfortunately, the lights take a long time to heat up to full illumination--more than 5 minutes. Even with the two I have installed in my 5x7 bathroom, I will need to install a vanity light. So overall a great product concept but a poor follow through on functionality. October 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A recessed light with a hidden fan. Great recessed ceiling light- once installed you'd never know it was a fan also. The fan is moderately quiet. You could easily install a lot of other recessed lighting cans in the bathroom and not be able to pick out which one was the fan. I only wishe the fan was a tad quieter. Good looking. Oh. AND good to know, the special light bulb (compact fluorescent specialty bulb- not your normal screw in) gets brighter the longer it's on. I thought it was the wrong bulb or poor design until I realized 10 minutes later that the bathroom was much brighter, lol. March 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nutone Recessed Fan Light 6" I installed this fan light into a bathroom that I am remodelling. The install was qute easy and the light itself hides the fan. So beyond the trick look to the unit (it looks like all the other lights in the ceiling) there is no seperate opening and ugly fan cover in the ceiling. The motor is very quiet but it seems to be powerful enough to draw a good volume of air from the room. The only additional expense that I incurred related to this unit is the purchase of an 8' section of metal hose ducting as the 5' supplied with the unit was not long enough for my bathroom. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Buyer Beware This fixture comes with a bulb with an unusual 2-pin base. The bulb takes a long time to come to full brightness. I wish I had known about the delay before I purchased and installed this product. There is no way to change to a different bulb due to the unusual base. I have not idea where I could buy a replacement bulb if this every goes out or breaks, I have never seen a base like this before. I recommend getting the model with the standard bulb base, then you can put whatever bulb you want to in it. February 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Fan For Small Space This fan was for a customer who's stand alone shower did not have adequate ventillation. The fan installed very easily in the confined space, performed relatively quietly, and provided ample light for the space. You can't beat the price for the features. December 26, 2013
