Customer Questions & Answers

Does the heat come from the bulb only or does a fan blow the hot air?

We had ours installed by an electrician and it seems we have 2 lights and 2 exhaust. It seems the night light is the same light as the overhead, and we have 2 fan switches but I haven't found the heat! Any thoughts?
Asked by: Homeowner
If it's like the two I have in my house, the unit is obviously hooked up improperly. Should be exhaust, heater, light and night night - 4 separate switches. The heater is electric and a fan circulates the air throughout the room very effectively. Had one installed in my old house and love the two in my new construction!

can I add a timer for the vent and heater so it won't accidentally be left on for long periods of time?

Asked by: wallarupe
Yes, any qualified electrician should be able install a timer. You can install one of those mechanical wall mounted spring-loaded rotational timers that control the heaters in many hotel bathrooms, but unless you really know what you are doing, this is a job for a qualified electrician.

Can I order new guts for my 9093 LH, the vent fan motor has gone out.

Asked by: fanmotorman
Yes, I replaced mine a few months ago. Very simple. It's held up by 2 screws and a hook. Remove the grill, pull the electrical wires out by their plug (squeeze the plug and pull), unscrew the 2 holding screws on either side and the entire unit (less the metal housing), will swing down on the hook. Lift off the hook and you are done.

Does this unit work on a 240v line?

I'm removing an old ceiling heater that currently has 240v running to it. Will this unit work or will I need to switch to 110v?
Asked by: Daniel
Hi Daniel, I contacted NuTone technical to get you an answer. NuTone stated you're going to have to change the circuit to 110. This product will not run on 240 volts. If you need additional help you can reach NuTone at 1-888-336-6151.

70 CFM Ceiling Exhaust Fan with Light and Heater is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 81.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replaced a 9091 with a new 9093 - many issues Those of you who are buying a 9093WH to replace a 35 year old 9091 unit, be aware of the changes between those models. While the housing is the same diameter and height - most everything is in a different location. Specifically, the AC power entry is about 30 degrees rotated clockwise from the old location (tough change if you use conduit), The heater discharge is 180 degrees from the former location. The housing is different inside and must be replaced with the 9093 housing. You will need to run one more wire for the night light. The exhaust vent lined up perfectly. I'm having a problem with one of the 4 switches - believe I need to get a replacement under warranty. Having said all that - it looks good, runs good, vents good, heats good - all the things it's supposed to do.

This is a Great Product, the combination Light, fan, and heat is a must for today's bathrooms, however.... the one thing that made this Fan a "Not Recommend" was that prior to purchasing, I read/downloaded the installation instructions, they state that this fan needs to mount between studs due to the weight of the item, the instructions shows pictures with fan mounted between two studs, the problem is that most homes studs are 12" or 16 inches apart, this fan is 13" inches round. So no matter what you will be having to do some modifications to get this item mounted, and in my case this included cutting a ceiling stud to get this fan to fit. This is not a simple afternoon installation.

The only problem we had was that one of the switches came broken. As this was going to be a bit of a custom install I just replaced them both so that they would fit the switchplate.
