Does the heat come from the bulb only or does a fan blow the hot air?

We had ours installed by an electrician and it seems we have 2 lights and 2 exhaust. It seems the night light is the same light as the overhead, and we have 2 fan switches but I haven't found the heat!
Any thoughts?

Answer:
If it's like the two I have in my house, the unit is obviously hooked up improperly. Should be exhaust, heater, light and night night - 4 separate switches. The heater is electric and a fan circulates the air throughout the room very effectively. Had one installed in my old house and love the two in my new construction!

Answer:
From page 3 in the install manual (attached), the heater and night light should be on one side of the switch and the exhaust and overhead light should be on the other set of switches.
The heater unit is a separate fan from the exhaust. If I remember correctly it is a 1300W heater, about like a blow dryer. With that in mind, it does take a bit to heat things up but ours definitely does. The heater fan Read More

Thank you for your question. My first thought is you need to contact our Technical Support Department. This unit has four functions: (1) A light; (2) a 7 Watt night light; (3) the exhaust fan; (4) fan forced heat. If you have two ‘fan’ switches, may be the heat is not working. If your night light is the same as the light, then something might be wired incorrectly. But before I can determine anything is Read More

If your night light is the same as the light, then something might be wired incorrectly. But before I can determine anything is installed incorrectly, or that possibly the heat is defective, please contact our Technical Support Department at 888-336-6151. They will be able to trouble-shoot with you. Also, before you call, be sure to know your model number (you attached your question to 9093WH), call us between 8:30-5:00 EST, and if you have your receipt that will be helpful, too. Answer:
Yes, any qualified electrician should be able install a timer. You can install one of those mechanical wall mounted spring-loaded rotational timers that control the heaters in many hotel bathrooms, but unless you really know what you are doing, this is a job for a qualified electrician.

Thank you for your question on the 9093WH. A separate time (15 min. model 61W or 61V) or (60 min. model 59W or 59V) can be installed separately to control the vent or heater functions. To order one of these of timer switches, just place a Special Order at your local Home Depot store. Answer:
Yes, I replaced mine a few months ago. Very simple. It's held up by 2 screws and a hook. Remove the grill, pull the electrical wires out by their plug (squeeze the plug and pull), unscrew the 2 holding screws on either side and the entire unit (less the metal housing), will swing down on the hook. Lift off the hook and you are done.

Hi Daniel, I contacted NuTone technical to get you an answer. NuTone stated you're going to have to change the circuit to 110.
This product will not run on 240 volts. If you need additional help you can reach NuTone at 1-888-336-6151.

Answer:
Hi, Daniel. Thank you for your installation question. This heat/vent/light/night light unit must be installed using 120V. It should be on a dedicated 20 AMP circuit, but it must be 120 V, not 240. If you have further questions, just dial 888-336-6151 and our Technical Support Department can assist. Thanks, again.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 69 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Many features but loud This vent/heater/light/night light combo unit does it all. Had to run an extra 15 amp line for the heater & had to cut out & replace single switch outlet with a dual switch outlet box to accommodate the quad switches(over & under). Unit works great except for the fact that it rumbles quite loudly. This was very well mounted with extra bracing but still makes a lot of noise on exhaust fan mode. July 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent! We had a Nutone bathroom exhaust fan that had been used a lot in the past 20 years. We wanted to replace it with one that would fit in the same space. The replacement fan fit right in and is working really well, and it even runs quieter than the old one. July 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great combo unit Needed a multi-purpose unit for a small bath & this one has it all. Light that takes up to a 100watt bulb, night light, more than adequate heater & a pretty quiet exhaust fan with a labeled 4way switch. Had to run an extra 15amp line for the heater but was aware of that up front. All in all, an excellent unit. Hope it lasts as long as the reviews said. A bit on the expensive side but it had all the features I wanted. July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for a small bathroom The bathroom is a full bath with a washer and dryer behind folding doors. This exhaust fan is able to ventilate the area very well. The heater is good. The lights are useful. The unit would be fine for any bathroom, but really fits the needs of a relatively small area. This was a replacement for an older one that finally quit after about 16 years. I wish the sound level was quieter, but this is acceptable. April 28, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Cosmetic issues and noise This fan is noisier than other reviews suggest, and, a major flaw in my opinion, when either the night light or the main light are turned on, all of the internal mechanical parts of the fan are clearly visible. I've never seen this in other vent fans. The grill is open and airy, as it should be, but the internal blowers and heater coil are totally visible when the lights are on. Hideous in a high-end bathroom. Ok for a construction trailer bathroom, I guess. I wish I had known this but NuTone is very careful to show a picture with a BLACK internal area, which it is not. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great. Much better than similar but old that we had Our old one didn't work very well and not wanting to cut more holes in the bath ceiling we bought a similar unit. It is much better, works very well, and is a nice compliment to our bath overhaul. Installed in the same location very easily. Would buy again. March 31, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Installed and working as described I installed this fan about a month ago and it is working just fine and we are enjoying the heater very much. It is noisy but it makes no claim otherwise. The two complaints are on the installation. For 'installating in existing construction' (quoting from page 3 of the manual) t wasn't entirely clear where to attach the unit to the header. I finally figured out what to do or at least what works. Please ignore the ceiling finish in the photo, that's another project. The real annoyance was the wiring instructions. Everything fits fine and works fine but Figure 2 seems to be backwards from the way the cover plate is pre-labeled (see attached pictures). Definitely check before wiring everything up and installing. It wasn't until I put the cover plate on that I found out it was exactly reversed or at least that is how it struck me. February 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product, This my 2nd one.The first one lasted 15 years & I replaced it because the fan got loud. I just used the insides as it fit the casing pe Great product, this the 2nd one after 15 years of daily use. The only problem was the fan got loud. I just used I he insides @ threw away the casing of new one, It fit perfectly. My wife likes @ uses all of the features. March 16, 2016
