Can you connect this heater to an existing wall thermostat from an older electric bb heater?

As long as the existing wall thermostat was a line voltage thermostat with an adequate amp rating it should work fine.

Base trim on walls is so easy with the unit sitting on the floor and not suspended above the floor. However, installation of this, and other sizes of the same heater were complicated by a manufacturing "defect" that did not sufficiently stamp the electrical connection knock-out on the rear of each unit. Actually damaged one that I had to return attempting to remove the knock-out like any other electrical enclosure (with hammer and screwdriver). I had to purchase a hole saw to remove the knock-outs. Contacted the manufacturer to alert them to this problem - they never returned my calls/emails. I hope they were intelligent enough to look into the problem and correct it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped working after 2 years I purchased this and a 2000w model on 11/14. Worked ok past 2 years though I did see higher bills than the traditional electric baseboard heaters that they replaced. Just turned on heat again & the 1500w is DOA. Warranty says 1 year so not expecting any help from Marley. Waste of money. Stick with the cheaper traditional baseboard heaters that last decades.

There has been a noticeable difference from the draft that would come up from our first floor. Was easy to install since the 240 V line was already run from the panel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Permanent Fix for cold extension I have an elevated extension to my cape cod style home that served as a dining room. It was impossible to run my hot water heating system pipes into the extension to support the high need for heat in this extension. I have used portable heaters for this area, but their lack of safety and heating capacity made me go for this hydronic electric heater. It was an easy install. I wired in a 240v programmable wall mounted thermostat to this and I could not be happier with this system. It works flawlessly and quietly. My electric cost went up by only $15 a month and it has been really cold here this winter in New York. I will be purchasing another of these units and will be creating the same setup in my basement as a supplemental heater in the near future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent heater We have several of these installed in our house. We goofed up with the last two we installed and we were given prompt and expert technical help from Marley (the manufacturer). We had it up and running in no time. The units heat quickly and easily heat our large sunroom (VA) with lots of glass. They're also economical to run. We've had them installed for eight years in some places and they've been problem free.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some initial quality issues Bought 4 of these heaters and had to return two almost immediately. One was leaking oil while still in the box and a 2nd had a faulty thermal limit switch and wouldn't stay on for more than 5 minutes at a time. So far the other two are OK. They are quiet compared to standard baseboard heaters - no pinging when they heat up and cool down. The jury is out on quality.
