Answer:
The Fahrenheat brand baseboard heaters are designed so you can wire them from either end. Which ever end you choose find the two wires connected together with the orange wire nut. Unscrew the wire nut and seperate the two wires, these will connect individually to your incoming power wires. The other end stays as it was wired from the factory.

Leslie, yes these heaters are efficient. You do not loose any heat through duct work or chimney's so you get all the heat in the room.

As long as the existing wall thermostat was a line voltage thermostat with an adequate amp rating it should work fine.

Answer:
If the old heater was the same wattage and voltage as the new heater and it is a lline voltage thermostat, then yes. If there are any differances between the old and new units verify that the thermostat has an amperage rating that can handle the new heater and the wiring is sized to handle the heater amp load.

Answer:
What you want to do is a heat loss to determine the size heater needed for a given space based on building criteria. But in a pinch, to get you in the ball park you can use the following. If the room is well insulated and ceiling heights are 8-9 feet, use 10 watts per square foot.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hydronic Baseboard Heater: Good source of heat Great heat source in our basement apartment. Heats quickly and quietly. Initial odor dissipates quickly. Am not sure about cost of electric, but as we only use it between April and Oct, we turn it on in the morning and evening, when needed. An electrician is needed for installation unless you are familiar with electrical work. October 20, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Some initial quality issues Bought 4 of these heaters and had to return two almost immediately. One was leaking oil while still in the box and a 2nd had a faulty thermal limit switch and wouldn't stay on for more than 5 minutes at a time. So far the other two are OK. They are quiet compared to standard baseboard heaters - no pinging when they heat up and cool down. The jury is out on quality. October 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This product works in excess of exptation The heater was easy to install and maintains the exact temperature set on the thermastat February 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent heater We have several of these installed in our house. We goofed up with the last two we installed and we were given prompt and expert technical help from Marley (the manufacturer). We had it up and running in no time. The units heat quickly and easily heat our large sunroom (VA) with lots of glass. They're also economical to run. We've had them installed for eight years in some places and they've been problem free. November 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Baseboard Heater at a value price. This baseboard heater arrived complete with instructions and installation hardware. It fit exactly in our space per the dimensions on the web site. It was packaged very well. We were very satisfied due to the fact that the brand we were replacing had gone out of business and we could not replace to match our other units. August 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Permanent Fix for cold extension I have an elevated extension to my cape cod style home that served as a dining room. It was impossible to run my hot water heating system pipes into the extension to support the high need for heat in this extension. I have used portable heaters for this area, but their lack of safety and heating capacity made me go for this hydronic electric heater. It was an easy install. I wired in a 240v programmable wall mounted thermostat to this and I could not be happier with this system. It works flawlessly and quietly. My electric cost went up by only $15 a month and it has been really cold here this winter in New York. I will be purchasing another of these units and will be creating the same setup in my basement as a supplemental heater in the near future. February 15, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Unpleasant smell Takes a while for the bad smell to go away when you turn these on! August 17, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This product works good. The heater provides even heat. It puts out a lot of heat for this type of heater. It is very quiet and looks good. If it lasts for ten years or so it will have been a great purchase. May 9, 2014
