We strung these (8 sets) back and forth across my backyard and I love the effect, lights up my patio perfectly for evening entertaining. I have had them up for over a year now. We used cable wiring to keep them from falling down and withstanding the wind and I've had no problems with them since they've been up. Great for entertaining, the light is low but bright enough that no other lighting is needed. Only problem is finding the exact bulbs to replace. On a plus, when a bulb goes out the rest stay on.

I picked up 2 sets, I like the look of the product, so I purchased it. Some simple assembly, a few things you should know. The hooks on top of the shades are plastic, more then half of them cracked when hooking them up. There are no spare bulbs, however if 1 goes out the others remain on. The set lasted 1 month, at which point a fuse went & they all went out (blew both sets) No spare bulbs, no spare fuse, delicate hanging clips, which, once damaged cause the lamps to unhook in a light breeze. I can't say I would purchase these again.

Had a party on our patio last night. As soon as it got dark, our guests left. Today I bought two strings of these to hang inside the 20x24 canopy - one string on each side parallel to the ridge. They light the patio area nicely. Bulbs are not bright, so it doesn't look like a used car lot. They're doing the job.
Installation wasn't difficult. Cable ties to attach to the canopy frame, plus a couple of extension cords. Plugged into a GFI outlet, so no worries.
Hanging hooks are plastic, but seem adequate - I wouldn't want to swing from them! Package says 'for temporary use only - max 90 days'...not sure what happens after 90 days (warranty expires??). Proper assembly requires attention to details - the pre-assembled fixture was wrong!
Expect that down the road I'll paint the inside of the shades white and install LED bulbs. Or perhaps I'll toss the shades and do the 'Japanese lantern' thing. Anyway, now I've got light.
