Product Overview

This indoor-mounted timer is so easy to use you can forget the instructions. Its intuitive zone-by-zone scheduling allows you to set watering times differently for each area of the yard, providing greener results with less water. By turning the dial to each zone, you can easily set more or less watering for full sun and shaded areas, or water slopes and clay soils in short intervals to allow water to soak in, avoiding runoff. You can also set different timing and frequency of pop-up sprays vs. rotor zones and customize watering of trees and landscaped areas in Drip zones. Each zone's setting can be reviewed easily in one view with a turn of the dial.

  • Controls up to 9 valves
  • Simple zone-by-zone setting allows you to customize watering schedules for each area of your yard
  • No complex programming - just turn the dial to a zone, then choose start time, watering duration and days of week
  • Large easy-to-read screen and lighted buttons allow you to review settings at a glance
  • One-touch seasonal adjustments allow you to increase watering in hot, dry months and reduce it in rainy periods
  • Long lasting durability with superior surge protection plus a sealed case to protect against moisture, insects and grime
  • Color coded terminals make it easy to connect zone wires as well as master valves, pump start relays or a rain sensor
  • Includes timer, transformer with 6 ft. cord plus installation guide

Can the colored control wires from the wiring harness be easily removed after they have been inserted into the bottom of the unit?

My father in-law put the wrong wire in the wrong zone for what he wanted and said he cant pull it back out. Since his zone wiring is over 20 years old I have recommended that he rewire from the unit to the zones but he said he would have to cut and splice because he cant remove the wire from the unit after it has been inserted. Is there a release for the wires after they have been inserted into the bottom of the unit?

Answer:
You can wire up 3 valve solenoids to a single zone terminals and they would open at the same time and close at the same time, BUT--You have to make sure that the current draw of the 3 solenoids are less than the transformer's output in milli-amps or amps and that the relays in the controller can handle the increased current draw;
Call Rain-Bird and ask them.

Answer:
I don't think so. The transformer has to operate the valve's solenoid and the current draw may be too much for multiple solenoids to open at the same time.

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 65 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Timer - But Not Perfect I really love this timer. The programming functions are so easy that a child could do it. I have two complaints though: 1) There is a button to "Run All Zones". I only wish this button ran the zones that are programmed. One of my zones isn't programmed to run daily (like the rest). I use this zone only on an ad-hoc need. So when I press "Run All Zones", I wish it would only run the zones that are turned on/active. 2) My second complaint is about the additional watering times. I wish these could truly be based on a time of day and not offset hours. August 1, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 9-Station SST900i Indoor Irrigation Timer Very easy to install, easy-To-Set, and works good. I especially like that you can press one button and run one station at a time or press another button and the system will run through the entire set system with out changing any of the settings, and when through returns to the auto setting. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works as advertised I have used Toro products in the past, but had to switch due to availability. This controller gives you a lot of options, doesn’t need a battery, and is a joy to interact with. The display could be a little larger, but that is just a personal desire based on my eyesight. You will not be disappointed – I have two of these, one for my primary home and one for a rental and they are both great. June 14, 2016
