Customer Questions & Answers

Is the plug for a normal 3 prong outlet

Asked by: bob415
No, this is for a 240V 20A outlet. The rotated prong is opposite form the 120V 20A plug. It will not fit in any 120V outlet.

Can this cord be used for a window AC Unit? Wondering if it is safe?

ANd if the cord can handle the voltage or draw? Thanks
Asked by: HeatherG
Depends on the plugs, and you need to be sure that they're the right fit. If your line to the plug from the circuit breaker has high-enough capacity for the AC unit AND the plugs match - they may not - then you should be good to go. It's a high-capacity line, but, if the plugs don't match, it's useless for you.

Can I used this on a refrigerator

Asked by: coolbreex
It depends on the configurations of the plug and the wall receptical. As I noted in my own review, this plug is configured EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE of the way it should be if you're putting it into a 20-Amp wall socket!

Can this be used for a dryer?

I need a longer cord for my dryer, remodeling and need to move it.9 foot or more would work.
Asked by: Lori
You didn't specify whether it's a gas or electric appliance. If electric, probably not, as most of those are 220 volts, and, in any case, need higher amperages. There are special plugs for driers. Check yours first. Take a photo of your plug, and take the photo or your i-phone carrying the photo to the store.

Easy to glance at and think it's a 20 amp 120 volt cord and I could tell that all 6 in the box at the store were returned. Home Depot does not stock a 20 amp 120 volt cord so I had to build my own for a tread mill...This is a good quality cord for a 240v appliance

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Check Your Wall Plate!!!! Check Your Wall Plate!!!! This item is configured exactly OPPOSITE the way it should be. It CANNOT fit into a standard 20-amp plug - the two prongs - horizontal and vertical - are mirror-imaged from what they should be!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for heavier loads A must for heavier loads, such as a wire a.c. unit, or a washing machine. Item was of good quality, and at a reasonable price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wrong prongs The prongs are not compatible to the 20 amp wall plates/outlets in the garage. The T is on the wrong side of the cord plug.
