Product Overview

Each carton contains 10 Vents. The ADO Products Durovent 23-1/2 in. x 46 in. Attic Ventilation System with Built-In Baffle helps keep air moving in your attic. The ventilation system features polystyrene construction, which is lightweight and moisture resistant, and the integrated baffle means that you need no blocking material between the vent and the top plate.

  • Install between rafters to provide an unobstructed air channel through insulation to help keep air flowing freely from soffits to ridge vents
  • Ideal for high-volume new construction or inexpensive re-insulation
  • Designed to friction-fit between the rafters or trusses with the vent's cones pushed up against the roof deck
  • Secure the vent in place by stapling the wide nailing flanges to the truss and top plate by using a horizontal stroke with your hammer tacker (hammer tacker not included)
  • Polystyrene material provides a lightweight air channel
  • Water resistant and durable, blocking out moisture and wind from penetrating the attic, to satisfy most building-code requirements
  • Economical way to meet energy code requirements for air flow
  • Integrated baffle eliminates the need for blocking material such as batt insulation between the vent and the wall top plate, as is commonly the practice for installation of rafter vents without an integral baffle

Customer Questions & Answers

Can I install the baffles from outside the house?

Asked by: Hambone
Yes. That's the best way to do it. Simply clean out the old insulation if any is in the way, bend the end of the baffle to the approximate pitch of the roof. Push into place and then staple to the rafters.

Do you only install one at each soffit vent or each rafter opening??

Asked by: Bob
Current building codes require that eave baffles maintain the same net free area as the soffit vent. An 8" x 16" soffit vent is approximately 58 sq in of net free area. That would require 3 eave vents for each soffit vent. Ideally, and part of the design of this particular product, you would put an eave vent in each truss bay (rafter opening).

Does this come in a smaller size? I need them to fit 16" centers.

Asked by: Sme5
They make the same product that is 14.5 wide for use on 16" centers

I have 22 3/4" of space between my trusses. With 23 1/2" in width on the foam vent product, This will not fit, correct?

Asked by: Dan
This is a typo in the listing. Visit their website at and look at the specifications sheet. The correct width is 22 1/2.

Customer Reviews

Durovent 23-1/2 in. x 46 in. Attic Ventilation System with Built-In Baffle 10/Ctn is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dont buy this product, buy Amerimax vent. It barely does its job, there is a much better product out there to use. The problems with this one? 1. It tears super easy. Not good when you are draging them around a cramped attic. Also, when you try to nail/staple it to rafters, the nail or staple head is likely to pull through. Or if you push insulation too hard against the product, it is likely to tear loose. 2. There is no way to adjust the width of this product. If you have a skinny bay, you have to cut the product down to size and therefore you lose your nailing strip on one size. 3. It is hard to get the bottom part bent around and held in place for instalation. I used the product as a retrofit, so I had a hard time in a crammped attic getting the vent into shape and then putting it in place. Especially since my house has a hip roof with a shallow slope.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work very well Just what I needed. Planning on adding another 15 inches of insulation to the attic over the old insulation. No baffles had ever been put in before so I needed to install them. Good Product. Easy to install.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Soffit baffle in new construction Installed. Durovent styrofoam material is rather thin, easily torn by roofing nails, wood splinters, etc. Depending on pitch of roof, may not be long enough to be deep enough for desired blow in insulation. Covered 2x6 top plate well enough. 2x4 truss, not very high, hard to staple well here. Vent fit well between rafters. I read staples pull through over time and vents fall down. Use a second outer material to staple through? Not just the foam.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best product on the market for maintaining attic ventilarion The Durovent with Baffle Attic Vent Channel was lightweight, made of long lasting polystyrene, moisture resistant, easy to install, with a stapler. The Durovent had a top plate block attached to prevent insulation from entering the soffet area. The baffling assures sufficient path for air movement for proper attic ventilation, especially for blown in insulation. This product is a much better product than the old card board top plate block and is a primary step for proper attic insulation, decreasing energy cost in my home. My cost for Durovent baffles was $125 for my entire home, including the garage. You can guess what it would the bill could be without proper attic ventilation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product not a bad product. but it is very hard to install cause of shingle nails always grabbing the baffles. also it tears very easy so be cautious while installing.
