Answer: 
In the chemical resistance guide that we publish in our catalog it advises that paint should not be used. We do not recommend painting due to potential degradation of the PVC coating due to the chemicals in the paint.

AFC’s UL listed 1/2 in. x 25 ft. Liquidtight Flexible Steel Conduit is permitted for use in accordance with the National Electrical Code including exposure to sunlight and weather. It is permitted where not subject to physical damage and generally permitted for lighting, however it is recommended that the lighting manufacturer’s instructions as well as local codes be consulted for the proper wiring Read More

That is correct that this prod can be used for exterior use and is sunlight and moisture resistant, but cannot be submerged in water. Thanks!
