Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great printer, don't push it, a real workhorse No assembly required, *almost ready to print out of the box. Easy to use driver, good documentation and many online tutorials to tell you how specifically to use this printer. I have been using it for a year to make props and it prints in ABS excellently. This printer works best with a ZebraPlate build surface, NOT the included perfboard. The perfboard is ok, but the Zebra Plate is amazing and makes the prints flatter against it, and is cheaper than getting both the recommended BuildTak and replacement perfboard combined. The maintenance is VERY easy, calibration might seem tedious but it stays that wasy for many prints. Yes, there is a learning curve on the settings for Z resolution, but if you can learn how to use a computer, you can learn this printer and it's quirks. The worst thing I have had happen was once the extruder failed and it had to be returned for repair, but it was under the excellent warranty (get the two year plan if available) and telephone support is included. Next bad thing is the small build area. Not a deal-breaker by any means, because your designs can be modified into parts that attach with a little know-how. Another not so good detail is the need to add a hardware switch to it, so it can use PLA plastic (It is hard wired for ABS as far as temps and internal calibration is concerned). Not a problem for me, but it may be for others. Afinia is a GOOD company and they have taken the UP! brand and made it their own. The UP! is not the same machine, many things have been upgraded. The picture I have attached is of a prop from a video game that was printed on an Afinia in parts, to make a full 16 inches in length with many interconnected parts. June 4, 2016
