Product Overview

Our humidifiers work by adding invisible moisture to your environment by moving dry air through a saturated wick. Maintaining proper humidity levels between 30-50% in your home/office/workplace has been scientifically proven to help prevent the flu and allergies. Proper humidity hydrates your skin, alleviates dry eyes, scratchy throats and can reduce snoring. With a doctor's approval increased humidity can reduce asthma and allergy symptoms. It also protects fine furniture, musical instruments, collectibles and wood floors. Proper humidity makes you feel warmer allowing you to lower your thermostat setting which will save money.

On some comments about the filter they said it dries out quick and that only half is being used and the top half dries.

Asked by: vol
Check to make sure the wick is installed properly. Take a spray bottle and saturate the wick. If the wick dries out, then it will need to be replaced. There is a 30 day warranty on wicks.

We sleep with our bedroom doors shut. Will they need to be open for us to benefit from using this?

2 story house
Asked by: Lisscadoo
We recommend using a humidifier for each floor of the home. The humidifier will try to humidify all open spaces. If the doors are shut it may effect the humidity level in those rooms during the period the doors are closed. Thank you, Christy - Customer Service at AIRCARE Products

how do I set humidity level do not understand Manuel

Asked by: magpie
For the Aircare MA1201. Humidity is set on the unit with the middle button on the control panel. With the unit plugged in and turned on, the readout display will show the current humidity level in the room. By depressing the humidity control button the readout display will show the humidistat setting. Repeatedly depressing the humidity control button will increase the humidistat setting by 5% until it reaches 65% then it starts over at 25%. You leave the setting at whatever point you want the humidity to be. If the humidistat setting is left at 65%, the unit will run continuously.

The wicks (also called filters) are substandard and quickly dry out at the top half. The only way to use this is to open up the humidifier every 12 hours and fully soak the wick in water and replace it. The top 1/3 will still dry out in only 3-4 hours (see photo). The company will stall you forever rather than simply replace the $16 wick, my guess is that they had a big production run from China that they're trying to get rid of. They also have a host of excuses ranging from "if you treat your water that invalidates the warranty" to "we suggest you use distilled water". The other excuse is to only use the lowest fan setting (still didn't fix the problem). I have a brand new unit and am getting nowhere after a week on the phone with these people. I think this would be a good humidifier if it had a decent wick. After a week on the phone, they still wouldn't send me a new $16 wick (each day there's a new hoop to jump through, after talking with two customer service people and then the customer service manager they said to call back and talk to the engineers for approval!. The irony is that I am a Mechanical Engineer myself and I kept asking to speak with their technical department and they kept saying they were out of the office. For three days they said to call back the next day and speak with their tech guys and somehow they're never there! Meanwhile, you would think that after giving me the run-around for a week they'd just hand over a wick out of, you know, "customer service"...instead they kept getting ruder. This is why I suspect they had a bad production run of wicks, they know that a replacement wick isn't going to change things. I have to say, I'm really astonished at their behavior. Btw, Carla was the customer service rep who kept giving me the runaround, Tina was the "manager" who clearly wrote all of a Carla's scripts. The two just kept interrupting me and repeating the same comments, irrespective of whatever I tried to say to them. Not fun....avoid this product until it's working again (!)

It is effective and covers a large area. However, it does not have an easy-to-load tank or a lighted (or any) view of the water level from outside. The 'automatic' feature is supposed to turn on at the number set. However, it turns on and off at several intervals when the indicator is less than the number set. While it is not particularly noisy, it is not as quiet as advertisements would lead consumers to believe. All-in-all, it does its job, but for the cost, I would recommend doing more extensive research on other models before buying this model.

Have had this unit for about three weeks.Humidifier has operated flawlessy so far.Weather has been in the mid 20s and this. unit has maintained a humidity averaging 45 %.Have to refill the unit about every 6 hours. When the temperature is in the 40 to 50 degree range water consumption drops to about two refills per day.The humidifier has four fan speeds, the fastest is fairly loud, the second(the one we use) is not bad and the lower two speeds are quiet.Design of this unit makes for quick easy refills with no mess.Would recommend purchasing this unit along with a spare filter and the anti-bacteria additive to minimize filter build up.In my opinion the $125 for all three items is a worthwhile investment. It keeps my wife and dog happy. What else can you ask for.

Have used it for over a month and are happy with the purchase. Instructions say to put near an air return but that was not possible in our house. We originally had it in the hallway where the bedrooms are located but moved it into the Master Bedroom. Not sure if the accuracy on the unit for humidity level is correct as it can differ from my house thermostat that also tells the humidity level in the house. Overall, a good purchase.

Only drawback is having to fill it about every 6-7 hours. I did discover you can fill the tank, let it deposit in to the machine, and immediately fill tank again. The water will deposit in to the machine when needed. This will buy you more time before filling again. Have been using this humidifier for about a month. Worth the numerous trips to the sink, to add much needed humidity to the air in the house!

It lives up to all claims in the description, and is better than I expected. Obviously, it holds a lot of water, so it will run a while without re-fill. The "Auto" setting works wonderfully - the humidistat controls the fan, and the whole unit works exactly as want it to all by itself - All I have to do is put water in it. A great product for the price!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does it's job, just be careful where you place it. Fantastic machine. Turned my house from a static cloud storm into a 55 humidity comfort zone. I got 2000 sq feet. BUT, at first I put it 6 inches away from a wall (like the instructions say is OK), and it wet my sheet rock enough it put long dents in it through saturation. Keep it at least 1 1/2 to 2 feet away from any sheetrock wall in my opinion. Great product for the price, though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great but be careful when filling The humidifier arrived very quickly considering we ordered it just before Christmas. It works great and we are very pleased with it. I gave it 4 stars only because filling it can be a challenge. Because of the weight of the filled tank it slipped in the sink and broke one of the guards off. It still works fine for now, thankfully. Just be very careful when filling the tank.
