Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jamie Excellent whole house humidifier
Easy to assemble and disassemble to clean. Just lift the top off. The top can then stay plugged in for the filter timer. The bottom pan has ridges for the filter and for strength, but that makes it less easy to wipe clean. I have a 3000 sq ft ranch house in cold winter northern Illiinois, and the humidifier keeps up with the humidity level at low fan speed, which is pretty quiet. My only complaint is a fair amount of maintenance. You need to add bacteriostat to every container of water (1-2 per day for me in Jan-Feb), and you need to clean the water container and pan with vinegar and then bleach every 2 weeks. The filter lasts me about 3 months.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WillieB Glad I purchased it!!!!!
I was hesitant to order online since I am a "see it in person" person. After reading all the good reviews I decided to order. I'm glad I did. The item was delivered as scheduled and as soon as I received it, I opened it. The assembly instructions were very easy to follow. I immediately put it into service. The bottle is easy to refill and also easy to replace on the unit. It is very quiet and easy to program.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jim Excellent product--very satisfied after 4 months of use
Used the unit for 3 month now and am very satisfied with it. Works exactly as described and keeps the humidity very close to the desired level. Instructions are clear and if followed the unit works well. Even though I'm heating with a wood burning insert and the air dries out fast in the Winter, I've had no trouble in keeping the humidity set at 35% in 1500 sq. ft. Noise is not a problem at the low fan speed--hardly noticeable. Water leakage (which I had with my last unit) is not a problem. I have found that taking out the filter and rinsing it gently once a month seems to make the filter last longer. You have to do this to reduce mineral buildup on the filter. Overall, this is an excellent unit and well worth the price.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jackson Great Product
Large tank and easy fill. This machine can do what it was made for. House has been so much better to breath in. Easy clean filters last. We have a softener so salt build up on filter is washed away quickly once a week. Filters last us longer than what is stated in instructions. I would buy this machine again. 5 STARS.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Chas Performs as Expected
The MA 1201 was purchased to treat a 2400 square foot two level home with 900 square feet located on the lower level. I installed the Essick MA 1201 on the lower level next to an air duct return. I can’t think of anything negative to say about the performance. I have checked the humidity level on both floors with a stand alone hygrometer and it always reads 2% to 3% of the setting on the MA 1201 which is 35%. When initially installed I ran the heating system fan continuously for a short time until the humidity was consistent through the house. Fill times have ranged from 2 days to almost a week. This is generally due to the setting and the outside temperature. With really cold weather filling will be required more frequently along with the possibility of having to move the humidity setting to a higher level. I have no complaints – the Essick MA 1201 has done what I expected.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MC1 Worst Humidifier Yet
This humidifier is probably the worst one yet. I had it running for less then 10 minutes, and it already broke. As I was switching through the fan speed the knob got stuck and won't come out again. Then the unit shuts off, and when I went to put it back on, it shut it self off again.
Not to mention the unit was dirty when I got it and the filter was mangled a bit. It looked like someone had used it previously.
Don't buy this humidifier. It's a piece of junk.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by yakfishnick Good product that does the job.
Simple to fill the tank. Simple to replace the filter. Simple to clean. First fill of the tank drains into the pan. Then you refill the tank and put that into place. As the water in the bottom pan evaporates, it is replaced by the water in the tank... a nice system that gives you two tanks of water for the humidifier. I usually refill the tank once per day. Has four fans settings. Settings 1 and 2 are fine for running without disturbing your peace and quiet. Settings 3 and 4 are pretty loud, but I do use them when I want to get the humidity to a set level fast. I'm able to get the humidity in our 2200 sq ft house with loft to a comfortable level and keep it there. Before the humidifier, our house was static electricity city with all inhabitants having the cracked dry skin to match. That's no longer a problem, and that's what I wanted the humidifier to do.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by N2009 This product performs magnificently!
Immediately, I was amazed on the sleek design of this evaporative humidifier. The bottle was so easy to fill by faucet, very light weight, and was placed back into the base effortlessly. The 4-speed fan is extremely quiet, and I love the auto humidistat feature, which only runs to reach the desired humidity level. I am very impressed with its performance and highly recommend this product!!!
