I purchased this model primarily because of the dimensions so it would fit into certain places around the house. It works well, and is quiet on the lowest of the 4 fan settings. I'll probably order another for upstairs. We have an 1880's Colonial with radiator heat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great and is simple to set up. This little unit really puts out the humidity! I was very impressed with how well it worked and it doesn't take up very much room either. I've used Essick products in the past and they last a long time. I gave my brother my old one (a larger unit) several years ago after I used it for 5-6 years and it's still working great! Before I purchased this unit, I went back and forth on whether I wanted to get a unit that was filter free, as that's the only drawback to owning a unit like this, but after reading the reviews of the filterless units and the time spent cleaning and filling them and the reliability issues, I finally decided to stick with what I know works. The little bit of money you spend for filters far outweighs the time spent cleaning the other units in my humble opinion. As they say, time is money, and who's not pressed for time these days? You can't beat this little unit for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I JUST BOUGHT A 2ND ONE OF THESE..... An evaporative humidifier is simply a wick or wicks, a water tank, and a fan. That is it. This unit, in a way seems like it is sort of cheesy or too simple. But that is the beauty of it. Simple to use, simple to fill, simple to clean, and a really effective wicking system with a huge water tank. I purchased a different tower style humidifier in-store and will return it. Why? it only puts out 1/2 the amount of humidity for the same price. This unit lacks a timer or shut off when empty. No biggie. It does have a set control that would allow it to shut off when it reaches a certain humidity level, but that feature is just annoying. On/off, on/off, on/off, etc. So I figured out that using the fan to control the amount of humidity is the better option. I compared the humidity level coming out of this unit using a humidistat vs. the one I'm going to return. I found this one produced about 75% humidity. The one I'm returning put out maybe 30% humidity. It appears to me the wicks in the one I'm returning just don't wick very well which means the fan cannot push out that much humidity. And the fan is weak on the one I'm returning. This is simplistic...the cover sits on a round plastic plate, that sits on the two filters with a plastic frame around them, which sit in some slots, and they absorb the water as you put the water in a big tub. But you know, it works. It isn't a quiet as the unit I'm returning but the one I'm returning cannot move the humidity level in a room. This unit is really easy to clean. Dump the excess water, reassemble, and allow it to run. It will naturally dry the wicks and the inside of the unit. Then you can sanitize. I have been using the anti-bacterial liquid with this which makes the water smell clean. This is the one to buy. Easy, simple, and not outrageously expensive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy customer the lowest fan setting is very quiet. I already sleep with a fan and can't even hear the humidifier at that point (both in same room). Testing it at the highest humidity, if makes your room feel like you got out of a shower its feels so damp. Keeping it at 50-55 humidity, it feels very comfortable and i rarely hear it. Plus keeps my clothes not be static. I noticed my boyfriends skin is now softer having it. Good buy and does its job. I fill it every 2-3 days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little humidifier I used this to replace a tower style humidifier made by the same company. That unit has 2 side tanks which had to be removed to fill and were akward to replace. This can be refilled easily by just pouring water trough the top grate on either side of the fan assembly. The lowest speed is quiet enough and can keep the humidity at the setting I prefer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as designed, no issues noticed yet, been in use for a couple weeks now. Pros: Good product for the money, adjustable fan speeds & humidity levels settings. Holds enough water to run for a couple days & a medium fan speed & humidity level setting. Cons: Keep extra filters on hand, they cannot really be cleaned, they need to be periodically changed. Fan motor will often fail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great humidifier We love this humidifier. It is easy to fill and clean. It lets you know what the humidity is and allows you to set your desired humidity. It is powerful enough to cover a good-sized area. This has been a great purchase for us and has solved our nose and throat dryness.
