Very simple to set up right out of the box - the 2 filters are easy to insert - I like the top fill feature - you simply lift off the top piece (fan) and pour the water into the unit - I use a gallon jug and add a gallon of water per day - it has increased the humidity level in my living room area which is about 500 sq. ft. - I don't know if it will cover 1100 sq. ft. as manufacturer says but for the area I'm using it in it has worked well on setting #3. As others have stated, fan setting #4 is a bit loud. I bought a separate humidity monitor so I know its working. I keep it set to 65 so it runs continuously until I shut it off. I also purchased the optional air filter for the top to help with air quality. This seems to be a nice humidifier so far and doing the job - I've been using it for 3 weeks - no problems with it - you can buy the water treatment solution but I just wash the basin once a week with vinegar and it stays very clean - I have hard water so I will replace the filters monthly or as needed. I am happy with this product and would recommend it to someone with a large area to humidify looking for a unit that is easy to use.

We love this humidifier. It is easy to fill and clean. It lets you know what the humidity is and allows you to set your desired humidity. It is powerful enough to cover a good-sized area. This has been a great purchase for us and has solved our nose and throat dryness.

I used this to replace a tower style humidifier made by the same company. That unit has 2 side tanks which had to be removed to fill and were akward to replace. This can be refilled easily by just pouring water trough the top grate on either side of the fan assembly. The lowest speed is quiet enough and can keep the humidity at the setting I prefer.

the lowest fan setting is very quiet. I already sleep with a fan and can't even hear the humidifier at that point (both in same room). Testing it at the highest humidity, if makes your room feel like you got out of a shower its feels so damp. Keeping it at 50-55 humidity, it feels very comfortable and i rarely hear it. Plus keeps my clothes not be static. I noticed my boyfriends skin is now softer having it. Good buy and does its job. I fill it every 2-3 days.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by captaindoug Works as designed, no issues noticed yet, been in use for a couple weeks now.
Pros: Good product for the money, adjustable fan speeds & humidity levels settings. Holds enough water to run for a couple days & a medium fan speed & humidity level setting.
Cons: Keep extra filters on hand, they cannot really be cleaned, they need to be periodically changed. Fan motor will often fail.

The humidifier arrived promptly, was a reasonable price and works pretty well. It could have been packed better. The cover for the humidity sensor was broken, but does not affect the operation.
Defect not worth the bother to pack the item back up to return to the because , like i said, it still works.

This little unit really puts out the humidity! I was very impressed with how well it worked and it doesn't take up very much room either. I've used Essick products in the past and they last a long time. I gave my brother my old one (a larger unit) several years ago after I used it for 5-6 years and it's still working great! Before I purchased this unit, I went back and forth on whether I wanted to get a unit that was filter free, as that's the only drawback to owning a unit like this, but after reading the reviews of the filterless units and the time spent cleaning and filling them and the reliability issues, I finally decided to stick with what I know works. The little bit of money you spend for filters far outweighs the time spent cleaning the other units in my humble opinion. As they say, time is money, and who's not pressed for time these days? You can't beat this little unit for the money.
