The humidifier had a good price but that was all. The higher speeds the fan rattles and is noisy, and the water tank will not empty with out someone pick up the tank and resetting it several times.

To be fair, there can be no comparison between the quality of the humidifier I purchased twenty years ago and the one I have purchased recently to replace it. The general quality of the older appliance wins, hands down.
Having said that, I will say that this product has the largest water reservoir of any that I could find on the market which is a plus. Still it must be refilled twice a day to maintain 30% humidity on the main level of my house (1350sqft), unlike the one I replaced which had a reservoir that was good for 3 days.
One other negative is that the water container, which is quite heavy when full, has to be inverted and lifted into the device rather than filled in place and is quite difficult to "seat". Other than that it is not a bad machine. It looks good and is relatively quiet when run on low speed.

I purchased this humidifier as a replacement product. Love the appearance because it really fits with my decor! It makes the house much more comfortable and the low fan setting is relatively quiet. I notice when it comes on but it is not obtrusive.
There are two cons to this product. The first issue is that filling the reservoir is a bit of a challenge. You have to have a faucet that the transfer hose will fit on and you have to put up with some squirting water if the hose connection is just the tiniest bit off. Just using a bucket to fill the humidifier would be better. Also the blower motor is not shielded in any way. It would be very easy to spill something on to it and short it out.
All in all I am pleased with the unit.

This seems to be a good humidifier but it is difficult to maintain. The water reservoir is very heavy when full and it is too tall to fit under kitchen or bathroom sinks. Set at 40% humidity the reservoir needs to be filled morning and night. It comes with a long tube for filling but storage of this is inconvenient. Does increase humidity per an independent gauge. Good product but just know it's lots of work.

this is a good humidifier(only a 4 star because i don't know of it's longevity - about 1.5 months so far). yes it is flimsy(but well built where needed and seems good quality and attractive), yes it does gurgle some, yes it does have fan noise, yes it takes a bit of effort to fill the removable "bottle", but for my 35 yrs. of using this type it is a good one so far - puts out plenty of water on fan speed 2 to take care of 1500 sq.ft. in not to dry a conditions yet - it is on medium carpet - says don't put on plush - so it is ok noise wise. All features work fine.
I fill the "bottle" by carrying to a deep bathtub and filling the bottle - return and invert into unit paying attention to seating of the " release button" - then in like a few hrs. that will drain into bottom reservoir - then refill "bottle" again will last a good 8 hrs on 2nd speed ..............
