Product Overview

This light oak traditional credenza style humidifier is sure to compliment any decor. Our humidifiers work by adding invisible moisture to your environment by moving dry air through a saturated wick. Maintaining proper humidity levels between 30-50% in your home/office/workplace has been scientifically proven to help prevent the flu and allergies. Proper humidity hydrates your skin, alleviates dry eyes, scratchy throats and can reduce snoring. With a doctor's approval increased humidity can reduce asthma and allergy symptoms. It also protects fine furniture, musical instruments, collectibles and wood floors. Proper humidity makes you feel warmer allowing you to lower your thermostat setting which will save money.

Customer Questions & Answers

can you remove the bottles for refilling - how heavy?

Asked by: Brandy
Yes, they simply lift out, very easy. They are 2.5 gallons each, so think about carrying two and a half gallons of milk and you'll be close to the weight.

Is it easy to fill with hose. I have bad arms and would find it hard to refill the bottles by tap.

Asked by: Kathy
The bottles are filled from an opening in the bottom. The short hose provided requires filling by tap. You could extend the hose, but still, the bottle must be lifted and it's heavy.

What are the dimensions of this unit? How is it filled and about how often? Is it easy to clean? Filters?

Asked by: iodine
28"Lx23"Wx16"depth - you need to make sure to leave space between the wall and the humidity detector (located on the power cord) so that it registers properly. I keep mine set on the level 1 fan and humidity on 40% and only fill tank 1 once daily and tank 2 about every 4-5 days. Filing frequency will be based on the fan setting, humidity setting, and square feet you are using it within. Obviously if you have it set at a higher humidity you will need to fill it more frequently. I use the bacteriostatic liquid so that cleaning is not difficult and it has a filter that I have not yet had to replace. It just sits within the unit, so it would not be difficult to replace once it needs replacement.

Where is the best place for this unit on a two-story house ?

Where is the best place for this unit on a two-story house ?
Asked by: Braga
Braga, The best place for the unit to be located is in the most centralized area. Generally this would be the living room. The moisture will travel throughout the house but the area where the humidifier is located will have more humidity. - Christina Essick Air Products

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essick Humidifier This is a pretty nice looking machine, and my wife and I started feeling quite warm within a half hour of setting the humidifier up. I turned the daytime thermostat down three degrees, and we still felt quite warm. It was a little tricky setting up, however. The instruction manual left a little to be desired in clarity. I had to guess where to install the float—it wasn't as pictured in the manual. The water bottles empty one at a time. But sometimes the second bottle doesn't empty, and you don’t realize it until you start to get cold. I do highly recommend this machine. The increased use of electricity should be offset by the money we save on reduced heating cost. I may need new bottle caps.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheap construction, but does the job. Cheap plastic construction and poor shipping protection resulted in a broken top, but a call to manufacturer got me a replacement top fairly quickly. Overall this looks cheap, and any fan setting over the lowest is just too loud, even though I set it up in a hallway away from where we spend time. The humidifier works very well, however, and I don't have to fill it too often if I keep the setting at 40% (anything higher resulted in condensation on my windows).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from CREDENZA EVAPORATIVE HUMIDIFIER The humidifier works very well. I am satisfied with its performance. However, i'd like to point out one improvement. After the RIGHT bottle empties and the LEFT bottle is being used, when I refill the RIGHT bottle, the humidifier switches over to the RIGHT bottle before the LEFT bottle has emptied. It would be advantageous to have the LEFT bottle continue to empty before the RIGHT bottle begins.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works It's been two weeks and To my great surprise it actually does mostly everything it says it should( just make sure I ts level or both bottles won't empty). At the lowest setting it's like having an air conditioner on ( but from reading other reviews I was expecting that). The humidistat on the machine seems more or less accurate when compared w a stand alone humidistat, but for upstairs only (where we put the humidifier ) -- it doesn't seem to be doing the downstairs much without condensation appearing on upstairs windows. Maybe this is unavoidable without extra ventilation? I don't know but after our experience with the essick pedestal model ( which was total useless - kept saying it was empty) I'm just relieved this one works at all - and no more nighttime nosebleeds for the kid.

I was very happy with this purchase in the beginning and for the most part I still am but for some reason the second tank has stopped "draining". The humidifier will say it needs filling and I lift up the tank and it is full. I have it on a level plane and it worked for the first two or three times I had to fill it but after that nothing I do seems to get it to work. Not sure what is going on. As far as I can tell nothing happened between it working and then not working - at least the other tank still works.

This product was easy to assemble and we had it up and running in no time. The only issue was the float which was warped like a banana . We called the 800 number and they promptly sent us another one. We would highly recommend this product! We have owned this product for about one month and it meets our expectations. The motor is quiet on the low speeds one and two.
