This is a simple whole house humidifier with only a few moving parts, which means less parts to break. The base is basically just a tank while the cover is the fan. The cover fully removes which allows for the tank to be easily cleaned / washed through the season. Easy to assemble, fan is quite and the humidity dial appear accurate (compared to humidity readout on thermostat). I have this set up in the basement where we have a wood burning stove. Between the cold climate and wood burning stove, the RH in the house can drop to 30%, which causes skin and static issues. This humidifier, holding 6 gal, will help keep the RH around 40% where we like it and will not cost us an arm and an leg. Can easily add water w/out removing the cover.

This humidifier does everything I needed it to do. The 3 different moisture levels make it easy to keep area the proper humidity you need. The extra large water resevoir is very convienant because you don't have to fill up as much as some of the other ones.

This unit can humidify a large area, has convenient features like automatic humidistat that turns machine off or back on at a certain humidity level, and a low water level warning light. The fan setting at low speed is very quiet. The best feature for Mom is that it can be filled from the front without removing a tank and it is on wheels so she can roll it up to the sink if needed.

Every winter I said that I would get a humidifier. It was so dry with the heat. Now, I finally have one. This is a space saving model. It has a 6 gallon capacity with a two speed fan and an auto humidistat. There is a filter/wick that cleans the the air before it is released back into the room. It was very easy to assemble. There were only a few parts to install. The casters on the bottom to easily move the unit around, then the wick and the float rod inside, and finally the motor/ fan assembly on top. Then it is ready to add water to the front reservoir. The booklet tells about humidity levels. The manufacturer recommends adding Bacteriostat Treatment with each water fill up and disinfecting with water and bleach. It is also recommended to remove scale buildup with water and vinegar. The wick should be replaced the beginning of the new season.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by hpiguy Adds Moisture Quickly, Auto Run Feature, Wick is easy to replace
Living in snow country, you haven't felt dry air until it's been -20 with 5% humidity. Your skin cracks, your hands are raw, and you can make enough electricity when wearing socks across carpet to start a bulldozer. A good humidifier is a must for helping kids and adults get through bad colds as well.
That's where this 6 gallon spacesaver humidifier comes in.
It assembles fast out of the box, you only need to insert the rolling casters on the bottom, install the wick and fill it with water. At the most you'll be using this in 20 minutes.
The wick is enormous, and it absorbs a lot of water, which means as the fan draws air across the wick it can humidify the air quickly and keep it that way. The fan itself has two speeds. I prefer low speed as it's quiet, but that's a personal preference.
The canister base holds six gallons of water and this should be good for an entire day once the humidity level has reached what you want, around 40% or so for us. When it's new you will go through more water until the air stabilizes at the level you want. I check it each morning and keep it full.
The humidistat dial does not have percentages listed. What you do is run the machine at the highest setting until the air reaches a level you are comfortable with. Then slowly turn the dial backward until the machine turns off. It will then keep the humidity level at that setting for you.
If the machine gets low on water a light will come on letting you know you need to refill. Refilling is easy, simply take a pitcher and pour the new water through the large fill grate on the front of the machine.
The wheels on the bottom make it easy to roll this over to the sink or bathtub for cleaning or filling.
Basically this has everything you need. It's reliable, it can humidify most homes and it works quietly and efficiently.
When it comes time to replace the wick you can order them from Home Depot. You'll need wick # 1043.
I confidently recommend this humidifier for the upcoming Winter season. It's just what you need.

Pluses: For the price paid, consider features included were what I should have expected. My next purchase will be for a humidifier with more features. Store was helpful in ordering the water treatment online. Recommend you have the store order the water treatment for you.
Minuses: Recommended water treatment was not available at the store. Ordered for store pickup. Online purchase took over a week to deliver to the store. Recommend you not assemble this humidifier until you receive the treatment and read its "DIRECTIONS FOR USE".
