This is our first humidifier. Didn't realize how bad the humidity "wasn't" in our home.(16%) Works wonderful! Have it set for 45%, kicks on and off perfectly! Sits in our kitchen and brought our humidity up to 32% in the living room. (30% to 50% recommended) No more static shock as before and our home is much warmer with the furnace at same setting. Easy to use, easy assemble. Refills easily...about once in 24 hours. (we don't wait til the water sensor comes on) Easy to read water level float. Love this style and features with it-Auto off when water level is empty, set humidity range at you specifications, 9-speed fan setting, and night-time setting for no-show lights. Highly recommend. Love the comfort it's produced in our Home!!!

Mine works great so far, humidistat is accurate. I keep mine in a large room set at 55% speed 2 it distributes the humidity via the heating system to maintain 40% in the rest of the house 2000 square ft.
When it hits 55% it shuts off until about 53% then restarts, uses little power.
Yes it will push cooler air out, since it takes heat to evaporate water.
When first starting up with a dry house say at 29% like I was it takes gallons and gallons of water to
bring the all the furniture, rugs, walls up to that 40%,then once you hit your desired humidity, it only has to maintain humidity loss due to dry air infiltration from outside.
Has enough features, auto shutoff,9 speeds, speed 9 is pretty loud but you are pushing a lot of air.
Easy to fill.

Got it out of the box, and was easy to setup and assemble. That is about the only good thing I can say about it. The water fill port is too small and when I poured water in with a pitcher, it splashed off of internal areas and sloshed out the side vents. The fill port door would not close completely, and I noticed the plastic case was coming apart. Then I turned it on, and all seemed okay. I turned the fan speed down to see if it would run a little quieter, but then found that the button to increase fan speed did not work. Packed it up and returned it with no hassle, but the customer service rep at HD never asked why I was returning it. Sure hope it didn't end up back on the shelf. Pile of cheaply made, poorly assembled junk.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by VeryPickyShopper Buy this humidifier
I have to make this quick.
First, I have a two-bedroom, two-bath condo. 1200 square feet. My comments might not apply to someone who has a three-story, 5000 square foot home.
Reason for a four-star rating is that there are cons, read other reviews, but I think they are acceptable--seeing as it is that this "space" is very difficult to "navigate".
I have been through several humidifiers--a TouchPoint, small, with a tray, a canister and then a fan with a filter, the Honeywell Cool Mist Evaporative Easy-Fill CM-750, the Lasko 9 gallon 1128 or something like that and now this.
Mineral buildup is a serious issue. Cleaners and treatments are a fact of humidifier life. As is regular cleaning.
The fact is, for something smaller, it can't affect a larger room. With that in mind, there are those, like the Lasko, which are definitely very loud. It does the job, for sure, but both the noise and the airflow were just too much for me.
Quick cut-to-the-chase, this unit looks decent, it has nine speed settings, so the lowest fan speed is very quiet, it is well-built and most importantly, it works. It has a 3.5 gallon reservoir. It boasts 12 gallons per hour max. I believe it. For the first time, when temps were below zero, even at the lowest fan setting, it keeps the humidity per a separate hygrometer above 34 percent--higher than when it is 40 deg F during the winter.
Cons are acceptable. Yes, if you pour water in too quickly, it will come out the fins. If you unplug the unit, it starts over with factory settings. Everything is digital, but changing fan speed takes time since you can't keep pushing the button. You have to be patient as you lower the fan speed. There is no canister, like the Lasko, so you have to have a container to take to the unit to fill. Yes, since it works, you have to fill it often. And do so slowly. I keep the fill door open all the time. Makes it easier. The optional fill hose is only 44 inches. Not a big help unless you put it next to the sink. There are hand-grips, but they are small and you have to look for them. But I moved the base filled with water and it held up. The sensor is on the cord, so yes, it may not reflect a separate hygrometer. But, mine turns off if it ever gets above what I set the humidity level to be.
This will be easier to clean than other units I have had, since the real culprit will be the tray holding the water. Not many obstructions. So shouldn't be too difficult.
Bottom line, I have researched and tried a lot of humidifiers and I think I finally found a solution. Based on how much of a pain humidifiers are, I strongly recommend this unit.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by lrgreen9 Great Unit!
This is a very nice unit. It does a good job of raising the humidity in my home. The fan is a little loud, but I usually crank it up when I am not home, and reduce it when at home. Also, it is true that the water does spill out the sides if you pour too much at a time. Just take your time and it works great. I recommend this unit for the value.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dave Overall I would recommend this to a friend
In my drafty 1100 sq ft apartment it keeps the humidity at a comfortable level.
Fan noise is good on lower levels. Higher levels acts like a white noise blocking out other unwanted sounds.
Refilling is a chore, the optional faucet hose for 6 dollars would correct this. A good value for the price.
Automatically turns off at preset humidity level.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by LILBSTY I like mine.
On highest fan setting, still Very quiet
Easy to fill
Controls are easy to set - high or low settings
Rated for 2500 sq ft.. I use it in a 500 sq ft with a ceiling fan; But im sure if there were No walls it
would work efficiently for 2500.
The exterior casing isnt the highest of quality.
Filling the unit was easy. However, you need to pour slowly into the reservoir or it will splash out the sides.
