Our humidifiers work by adding invisible moisture to your environment by moving dry air through a saturated wick. Maintaining proper humidity levels between 30-50% in your home/office/workplace has been scientifically proven to help prevent the flu and allergies. Proper humidity hydrates your skin, alleviates dry eyes, scratchy throats and can reduce snoring. With a doctor's approval increased humidity can reduce asthma and allergy symptoms. It works whit water?

Asked by: Francesco
Yes, you will need to fill the unit with water. I use an old gallon plastic milk jug that I cleaned and rinsed out. I put about 1 gal. in it each day with the unit set at 45 percent humidity. The first filling takes about 3 gallons.

My humidifier would not start up this winter. I took the filter out last spring, cleaned and unplugged it.I put a new filter in filled it with water the winter plugged it in and turned it in. but it wouldnt run. I set the humidity at 65 and it goes to 23 and nothing happens I keep setting it to 65 as it says in the manual the it is supposed to run, but it wont stay at that setting long enough for it to start up. I think there is something wrong with the control.
Asked by: dean
Dean, Are you seeing a "23" and then "F" flash and then "23" again? If so this could be a float issue. You can always call our customer service department for live troubleshooting when you are with the humidifier at 1-800-547-3888. Thank you, Christy - Customer Service at AIRCARE Products

The "key" here is that for $169 (with remote), your getting a great humidifier that is a great buy for 2400 sq ft. I've read the previous reviews. This isn't a $400+ unit. We bought this for upstairs, where all the bedrooms are located and myself, my wife and kids sleep. Yes, it can be loud when "cranked" way up. (ours is located in the hallway) Yes, the humidity level readout on the unit display isn't perfect. (because it detects the humidity level right at the unit. Not down the hallway or bedrooms) But with some common sense and reading the humidity from the remote (or other source) you can make some adjustments and the unit works just fine. I've completed "a ton" of research and bottom line, if these couple little issues bother you, you're going to have to spend much more to accommodate your needs for 2400 sq ft. We love our AirCare Humidifier. Works great and easy to maintain and operate. Everyone is sleeping comfortably and no "dry mouth".

The unit ran continuously even though it was set at 50. This unit was a piece of junk. I returned it to Home Depot after 2 days. WHAT A JOKE!!!!!

Doesn't stand out like a sore thumb in the living room. Tells us when to refill. It does the job. We like it very much. I don't know that a remote control is really that necessary, however.

Also, the exhaust vents that push out the humidified air face down. I changed them to face up into the room like other users suggested. They just snap out and back on. No problem. I would recommend this unit. I have a fireplace insert and burn about 4 days a week. This humidifier is tough enough to keep the house less dry while burning wood. Just noisy, but works well. Don't bother with the remote control version. Not worth it. The remote and humidifier unit itself don't coordinate their humidity readings very well between them. I wish I would have not spent the extra money for the remote. I now use the controls on the humidifier itself. Works much better. Yes, I would recommend the unit. Bottom line, it works!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the Price I agree with what some other reviewers said -- it's not perfect, but for the price, you can't beat it. I've bought seven or eight humidifiers over the years, and this is the best one, by far. It's simple and effective, with no "scale" or dust. It just works. And it doesn't look like a humidifier. I've had mine for three years, and I'm about to get another one for a large bedroom that's too far out of the loop to get the benefit of the one I already have.

Humidity level doesn't change. I have two AcuRite digital thermometers, one on top of the unit and one on other side of the room, humidity level hasn't changed since 12 hours ago. This wouldn't change the humidity level in a 2 sq foot room, let alone up to a 2400 sq ft home. An absolute waste of money.

I have a very old non functioning whole house humidifier on my furnace and I really didn't want to mess with upgrading. This unit helps put the humidity where you need it in 1500 square foot house. We run it on the lowest fan setting in our living room.

The remote does not read the same as the unit. I called the manufacturer and they are sending me a new remote. Extremely disappointed on the noise humidity does not go 2400 ft.²
