Product Overview

The AMDRO Fire Ant Bait kills the queen fast and destroys the fire ant mound. Once you distribute a circle of bait around the mound, it’s only a matter of time before the worker fire ants share it with the queen. After the queen eats it and dies, her colony dies with her. The granules are designed for individual mound treatment but can also be used for broadcast application in outdoor areas.

  • Kills the queen fast
  • Can be used to destroy individual mounds
  • Destroys visible and hidden mounds
  • For outdoor use
  • Ready-to-use, does not require mixing

Answer:
Yes. Be sure not to apply any other product other than the Amdro. The worker ants are needed to carry the bait to the nest in order to kill the queen. All ants esentially feed the same way so it works on a varitey of ants. The bait should be sprinkled when the ants are actively feeding. Re apply if bait gets wet. Ants will not take the wet bait.

Yes, but ants like other things become immune to some substances so you need to change occasionally.

Answer:
Dogs are great if you have the time and place for them! OH, regarding Amdro? read the package- but my recommendation would be to sprinkle when the dogs aren't around for a little while. It doesn't attract animals and loses it effectiveness in about 24 hours. How small is your space- that is probably the key, my dogs have acres to explore and the amdro does not enter their radar.

Hello,
Amdro Fire Ant Bait isn't very toxic to dogs when it is applied according to the label. We do recommend you keep your dogs indoors while you apply the product. After that you can let them back into the application area.
Thank you

Answer:
HI skilet,
Amdro should not be ingested by chickens. Do not use Amdro where animals graze. Keep pets and animals away from the treated area for 24 hours.
The oil that is used as the bait will attract ants as well as other animals such as mice and pets.
Avoid using this produce where the chickens feed.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by really works for ants and quickly! works quickly to remove ants just sprinkle where they are and in a few days they are gone works the best of any product we've tried July 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Andro Ant Easy to use, worked great on the ant beds. No mess just gone. June 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Requires Patience This product works but it's not overnight. You may think the den is still alive days after your initial application but you need to allow time for the worker ants to feed the treated bait to the queen and developing young ones and kill them off. Sometimes the ants will abandon the nest prematurely but that's the breaks of ant killing. It takes a while to recognize and treat all the ants in your enclosure and even then new colonies may come in from an untreated property. It's a constant battle but if you keep after them, you'll eventually be relatively ant free. May 10, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works on Fire Ants Easy to use product that works. We just sprinkle around the hole where we see activity, and within a day or two they are gone. May 8, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best product Worked great to rid the pesky fire ants. Other products did not do the job. May 3, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Amdro Fire Ant Bait I would recommend this product if you have the time to chase down the moving ants and keep applying the bait. It is not a once and done application. It seems to kill a portion of the mound then the others leave the next and reestablish a new nest but smaller each time. I would like to see a once and done product rather than a treatment, treatment and then another treatment. It does seem to kill ants but over a week or two if you have the patience. I do believe it is over priced. April 5, 2016
