Gophers return

I used gopher grasser before but I find they ( gophers) move to different part of my yard. What am I doing wrong
Asked by: Tony
Make sure to gas all holes in the area at the same general time. Each den has at least two exits so make sure to get the first gasser all the way into the hole, further the better, then cover it fully so no gas escapes. Watch the whole area to see if any smoke (gas) escapes from another area/hole. Holes are not always obvious and may be partially covered. If you find another exit. Open it up if not already opened, and gas it. If you only find one hole, chances are good the gopher will move to the other end of the den to escape the gas. He has to get out so if you only found one hole, look over the area the next day and see if there is a new hole and gas it immediately before the gopher can make a third hole....

is this product as effective as the Giant Destroyer? (amdro gopher gasser)

the giant destroyer used to be carried by HD. the ingredients and the bomb size are different. i found the giant destroyer to be pretty effective and am hoping for the same or better results from this product but it is too early to tell.
Asked by: jiffy
No it is not. The Giant Destoyers are much better!

How long does it take for it to ware in to let dogs sniff it

Asked by: Bonnie
The instructions say to open a hole into the tunnel and insert the gasser. Then you are supposed to cover the hole with dirt to trap the gas underground. Unless the dogs dig up the hole immediately, they should be able to run around the yard immediately.

The night before I plan to use them, I step down any mounds- this helps you determine which tunnel is currently active as the next day you will see new mounding. Once I know which tunnel is active, I use these and accelerate the gas with my leaf blower. Expose the tunnel opening and insert lit gasser into the tunnel. Once it's inside, use your leaf blower to force the smoke thru the tunnel. This ensures it travels throughout the entire tunnel. Mole activity will usually subside in that area after that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You never know for sure with these gophers and moles.... You never know for sure with these gophers and moles. The gasser sticks seem to do the job for a while. They are easy and safe to use, so yes I will use them again when needed.

Moles have taken over our yards because of last years rainy spring/summer due to grubs being under anything they can like sidewalks, stones in gardens, under fences, etc. I used grub control 3 times without success. Then I went to traps which are cumbersome and hard to set. Finally, I found this in Home Depot. I literally wiped out the mole population at a very reasonable cost. I simply took a 1 inch small rake handle, punched a hole until I found the run's space, lit a gasser and in no time any mole inhabiting that run was d-e-a-d. I love the simplicity of the product. We had a dry winter and no moles, now with spring rain they are re-emerging. Got two of those suckers yesterday. They work...period.

You need to be proactive about it and it's going to take more than 1 package. Use a small gardening shovel, insert the shovel into the mole tunnel, light the gasser and wait until it starts producing gas, lift the top of the tunnel and insert the gasser under your shovel and into the tunnel. If it's lined up good with the tunnel, it will insert smoothly. If you're having to push, it's not lined up correctly. I made little flags with metal insulation supports and duct tape to mark the location and direction of the gassers.

The pesky critter had several feet of gravel dug out in 2 places and the gravel mounds were growing. we tried the humane way and set a trap. caught a possum. Decided to gas him out. this were recommended by the clerk at Home Depot. We used 2 sticks per hole and shoveled in the holes. That has been 3 weeks ago, there has been no activity at the pole barn, so yes they do work. May he/she rest in peace.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They work great. follow instructions used them around a property infested with skunks, possums, and groundhogs. We lite the gasser put in hole and used a leaf blower to help the smoke travel. skunks were dead. in another hole we checked the next day there was a 20 pound opussom dead at the opening of the hole. and trapped a groundhog there. but it's been 1 month now and more skunks moved in one of the 5 different areas we gassed. but they should be dead now as they were gassed tonight

I found them after trying two packages not to burn as long or as intense as the main competition. They seem to go out after inserting in hole. I let them burn a short while then cover the hole but the smoke stops. The competition burns strong and actually pushes back at you unless you cover it withe a brick then cover the hole later. I would rather spend more on the better product line you carry than this one.
