We had the heater for a couple weeks and then it started acting strange. It would turn off and on very often. It did not keep the room heated well. It only heated it 5 degrees more than what was already there. This heater is definitely a supplemental heater, do not buy this heater as the sole heat for your home. Then the heater got bumped slightly, and stopped working. The plastic on one of the corners got cracked. The quality was poor. Because it was broken so easily, the value was poor, I do not recommend this product. Save your money and buy something more durable. Because it only worked for 2 weeks, I have no idea if it was energy effiecient.

I like the ATI Heat Force 1500 Heater. Of course I know know the 1500 stand for 15 amp. This heater pumps out enough heat to really heat the 16 x 13 FT room up. My other 12amp fan heater only puts out 145 deg heat but takes twice as long as the ATI heater which puts out 175 deg heat. As the other people have stated The infer red remote need to be redesigned. It is too small to easy to loose. It buttons are too hard to read. It needs to be 3x thicker and 2 inches longer in length and take ether AA or AAA batteries and have raised buttons on it of at least 9/32 high. As long as you know were the power button is you are good to go.

I have had it before Christmas and have had no issues with the the unit coming on and off. It runs all day and keeps my living room at 68-70. I do shut it off at night because I like a cool house to sleep, I do have a portable heater in the other area of the house and am thinking of repacing it with another one of these. I have heating fuel for my house and it was running around $4 gal so would cost me around $300 a month, pellet stove was costing me $90 and it died so need another one. This heater with the other portable one increased my electric bill only $85 more a month. So total for my electric is $145. So for me it is very effiecent. I like the fan on it then I know it is working. Just old fashion me.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by hinemi Went bad, returned it for another
I had this for just about 2 months. I used it off and on and I liked it. It raised my electric bill a little, but not too much. All the sudden the unit started turning itself off. Then it would turn itself back on. Then back off again. Then back on again. No, it wasn't the thermostat turning it off and on, the thing wouldn't respond at all. It started doing this about every minute before I realized it was a problem. I spoke to the company and I'm not exactly sure what it was, maybe that they were so blasé about the whole, 'you can't return it to us, you'll have to take it back to Home Depot'. It bothered me. Then I looked on the BBB and saw that they had an F rating, although only one recent complaint. So, when I returned it, I got another brand.

We live in a big old drafty house, so the idea of using an infrared heater and turning down the main thermostat to save money sounded like a great idea... but, not with this unit.
The first one we purchased worked well on medium and low, but the machine would turn off on high. Not just stop when the temperature was reached, but the control panel would go off as well. I contacted the company and they said it was a bad heat sensor, that the safety feature causes the unit to shut off to avoid overheating and to return it. We did that and ordered another one.
The second one lasted less time. Operated OK if the temperature was set to no more than 72, anything above that, the unit turned itself off on high or medium settings.
When it did work, I really loved the infrared heat. I will try another brand.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by jack Thermostat is worthless
We have purchased a few infrared heaters and have disappointed in all of them. Its for our daughters bedroom which is over a garage and gets quite cold in the winter months. First night here and it was set for 65 and the room was 72 and its still pumping out heat! I turned the thermo down to 64 and the room had dropped down to 62???? So at 65 it runs until I shut it down since its so hot in there and then 64 wont even keep it at temp. Piece of junk!!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by thekps It was great "WHEN" it worked
We loved this product when we first received it. It worked super. than as the weeks went by it wouldn't keep a good temp. and then within two months started to turn off and back on on it's own, ever minute or two. We ended up returning the product and getting a refund. Home depot was excellent with the return. We bought two and they both did the same thing. Until they work out this issue. I cannot recommend it.
