will this work in plumbing series

I already have a whole house water heater, can I use this unit at the shower to up the temp a bit - I am selecting this only coz it is 110v, I was wondering whether incoming hot water into the unit would fry it - what would be the max input temp for this
Asked by: ctor
If you mean in series with a standard hot water heater, then, yes, it could work. But be careful that you don't end up making already hot water even hotter. The unit should have a high temp cutout but you should ask the manufacturer.

The installation was straight forward and it works as expected. It gets the water hot, but not scalding. Actually had an issue when we first hooked it up. Initially I left the aerator off the faucet. This produced a higher flow rate than the heater could handle. The lights came on, but the water didn't get warm. After putting the aerator on, this reduced the flow and the heater started to work. If your need is just to wash your hands or something minimal, this will work fine. One thing I do have to say, their customer service is spotty. It took two days for them to get back to me. I had the issue solved by the time they returned my call. It appears that they are a foreign company, and their presence in the US is someone who only occasionally picks up the phone. I called both their customer service line and their sales line and they both went to the same mail box.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tankless electric heater Had one installed and 2 days later had to pay to have it uninstalled and put the other one in because it leaked from the inside. Not pleased with the way it operated. Unless you just trickle the water, it does not heat. If you turn it on regular force, the cold overpowers the hot. Poor functioning. Will have to return the original one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't really work Also missing needed install parts when shipped. A friend bought in-store and it had all the needed parts. It works a little, but you have to wait and have the water pressure down low. It is faster than it was, but for $100 plus, I expected it to be as advertised!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work The unit heated water from cold to not as cold, but still cold. We could have had a bad unit, but decided to return it for a point of use tank style heater instead.
