Product Overview

Active Ventilation Products Aura Ventilator Retrofit product line is designed to fit over a turbine ventilator roof base. It has a flared adapter that easily fits over an existing roof mounted metal base. The Aura Ventilator Retrofit has a patented engineered design to create CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) of air flow with no moving parts. Model AV-12-RF-BL has a 12 in. Dia throat opening and will produce 310 CFM at 11 mph with no moving parts. It is an excellent choice to exhaust attic heat in the summer and moisture in the winter. The Aura Ventilator Retrofit product line is made of durable rust free aluminum and has 2 manufactured components: The vent head and adapter. The vent head’s patented design has three concentric cylinders with slotted vertical louvers. When air moves against the louvers of the outer and middle cylinders it is directed to create a circular airflow while spinning against the inner louver section. This air movement creates a Venturi effect which produces a vacuum or negative pressure to pull air from within the attic space. The vent has a flat one piece spun cap that prevents rain and snow from entering the vent verses the turbine vent which is open to the sky and allows rain water to enter in “no wind” conditions.

  • Easy to install
  • Noiseless, does not require electricity to exhaust air from attics spaces
  • Leveling is not required; the aura ventilator retrofit can be installed parallel to the roof
  • Built-in inner vertical louvers has an 1/8 in. opening between the louvers to keep out insects, birds and squirrels from entering the vent while allowing optimal air flow and no maintenance
  • Will reduce attic temperatures in the summer and will keep the attic dry and cool in the winter to preserve attic insulation and prevent ice dams
  • Round aerodynamic design can with stand harsh weather and wind forces of up to 200 mph
  • Model AV-12-RF-BL black powder coating finish adheres extremely well and is more difficult to remove than wet paint which adds to the vents durability and long lasting clean appearance
  • Powder coating is significantly greater at resisting scratching, chipping, and oxidation
  • Ventilation rule 1:300 (1 per sq. ft. of attic space): 1 vent per 450 sq. ft. of attic space
  • Helps to reduce energy costs
  • 5-year warranty

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what we needed Perfect fit. Replaced the old vent quickly and looks great. August 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy Install and Decent price. I had 2 windmill roof vents that were bent and beaten to death. Replaced both with this round retro-fit vent. I am satisfied so far. I've only had them on for a month or so (very early spring) and so far I've not had any problems. Just waiting to see if water will leak in with heavy rain. March 31, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by screws? what screws?? The vents are well made and fit easily where my old turbines had been. HOWEVER, each vent should have come with 4 self-tapping screws. I ordered 3 vents so assuming I remember 3rd grade math, I'd be expecting 12 screws (self-tapping, right). INSTEAD, I got the following 6 NON-tapping phillips head screws and 2 SELF-tapping screws with no usable head -- it was just a pan head with no grooves at all!! Not a huge deal, but definitely expect better quality control. April 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Replace those squeaky turbine vents These retrofit vents are of high quality and easy to install. My existing turbines began squeaking last fall after only 5 years. I also learned that in the winter they suck too much warm air out of the attic. I was able to install two of these in less than 20 minutes. February 24, 2014
