The concept is very good and this gate frame will last for years. However, it would be even better if the metal frame were manufactured using a thicker gauged steel. I upgraded/purchased a much a much better gate closer from Home Depot which I feel is significantly better than the closer which is included with the kit. I also purchased 2 Stainless Steel Lag Bolts with washers and nuts as I needed to attach the gate to a Schedule 40 Galvanized Metal Post rather than to a wood post. A word of caution - be careful of the wire cable or it will bite you as you attach it to the frame. Overall, a very nice frame that will last for many years.

After reading the Adjust-A-Gate reviews I ordered 3 online for a new fence I was building. They were ~$100/gate. The local store was carrying the same brand in the 2 rail for $~50/gate. They might have been adequate, however these were the 3 rail gate and "contractor" grade, which I understand have heavier weight hardware and is probably worth the difference. I did substitute a better grade of screws, but the rest of the hardware was very good. The gates ware complete, with easy to follow instructions and worked well for me. What I like the most is how the Gate Frame Hinges can be slid up and down and bolted to the frame to match the Wood Gate Post hinges which use a lag bolt mounting method. This makes it almost error proof in getting the gate the needed height for ground clearance. I would use them again and recommend them for others.

This gate kit was good, but not great. I used 4 of these total. 2 for walks gates and 2 for a drive gate. First off, it is for wooden posts only....out of the box. I bought separate brackets at HD and mounted it to a steel post that was 2 3/8". It worked great. The problem I am having is that most of the screws included have already broken and popped out!!! I had to add additional screws and use ones that were stronger. Also, in only a week or so, I was seeing a little surface rust, especially near the seams. I am worried about that. I already used paint to touch up the rust areas. I only pray these last!!!!!! I wish that brackets were included so that it could be used for a wood fence or a steel post fence. Plus, make sure it does not rust!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by HHayes Great way to build a gate
I used two of them to build a double gate over our driveway. Much easier than building from scratch, and the metal frame ensures stability and square angles.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by peachjc 2 kits make a great double gate
I bought 2 kits for a double swinging gate. It worked great. The frame seems to make the gate rigid enough, even without the diagonal cable, but the cable is good insurance, and allows for small adjustments, if necessary. Note--though most holes are predrilled, I found that some drilling was necessary.
