Answer:
The Adjust-A-Gate is designed to swing in however, there are a few steps you can take to install an outward swing gate. 1. Set your post hinges offset center of post towards your opening direction. 2. Insert your hinges to 1 ½” from edge of post to center of hinge pin. 3. check for opening clearance of gate frame and fence boards. The gate should open to 90 degree.

Answer:
4x4 posts set min 42" deep is satisfactory for a 4'-5' gate opening. 4x6" should be considered for a 6'-8' opening

Answer:
Our Adjust-A-Gate hardware is designed to attach to solid wood at least 3.5” in width (4x4, 4x6, 6x6 posts all would work). The depth of your fence posts would depend on your soil, type of fence and weather conditions of your area.

Answer:
The Adjust A Gate products are not adjustable in height, only in width. This particular model is for gates that are 4 feet tall or less.

Original Series 60 in. - 96 in. wide gate opening, Steel Gate Frame Kit is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 15.

They say the gate upright is 36" high and I drilled holes accordingly. However, the upright is really 45" high. After realizing this I called customer service and was told the description on line had 45". So the description and the instructions were not the same. I looked again at the earlier reviews and someone else had the same problem. You would think it would have been corrected. For this big problem I would not recommend the product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Product In General - Instructions Not Correct to Product Received I gave a 3 star overall due to bad instructions and product not matching the instructions. First - instructions read to measure mid-point on post and drill 16" off center for top and bottom hinges. The top and bottom of the steel frame are less than 36" and I had to re-drill hole in post to fit size of frame. I followed instructions instead of actually measuring to see if correct. Second issue with instructions, which is a defect in both instructions and holes cut into steel frame - the holes for hook truss cable kit on gate, which are intended to put upward tension on gate towards upper hinge & the precut holes for latch are wrong - the kit as cut puts holes for latch at the bottom of the frame when should be at top of frame. If I reverse the frame for the latch, the hook truss cable has tension going the wrong way. The only solution is to cut my own holes for latch. In general the quality and value are good. The instructions are off and I will need to cut the steel frame to get latch set correctly. I've looked at it several times and quite simply, the precut holes for latch are wrong.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Instructions were incorrect, size decription is not accurate Bought this kit and another one to make custom swing gates for my driveway. First of all the kit says its adjustable from 60-96". This is incorrect as the max it will stretch with the reinforcing tubes is 95". You have to cut the 2x4 down to 92" to achieve this. Second the instructions say measure 16 inches from the centerline of the post up for the top hinge post then down for the bottom one. Total span is 32 inches. Thats fine except the total inside measurement of the frame is 26 inches. So after going by the instructions and drilling the holes first, installing the hinges and then trying to assemble I find the mistake well after which was frustrating at best. Its easy enough to install and seems sturdy but for the price the instructions should be correct as well as the dimensions as an inch shy made a big difference in my project as I had to move a post.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Adjusta-gate I bought the 60-96" gate. I was very disappointed in the product. The cross bars that is supposed to stretch the gate to full width would only make a 66 " gate. The s hook that was furnished broke when I tried to adjust the gate upwards. Very disappointing product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must for any gate Worked out great for my project! Hardware was a little cheap but the gate itself was well worth it

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Directions are WRONG! While the gate works well. I had to redrill some holes because, as another review points out (and I failed to have read), the distance between the horizontal supports is less that what can be adjusted to hinges. Instead of using the 16 inch measurement in step 1 of the instructions, I suggest that 12 inches works perfectly. I am disappointed that Home Depot did not read the earlier review and demand that the vendor not ship any more gates until the issue was corrected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with this product This gate was exactly what we needed for our 77 inch opening at the end of our deck. Even with our limited mechanical skill set, we were able to get it installed without a major mishap or mistake! After we installed the gate, we stained and installed the balustrades so that it matches the rest of the deck perfectly. We are very happy with the finished result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, Strong and Adjustable This gate frame is a fine example of 'yankee ingenuity' in that it is relatively light in weight for (1) the strength it has, (2) the relatively wide adjustment in width and (3) its narrow thickness. It is the only one I have seen that is adjustable. These features meet my needs.
