Our machine was delivered on 07/29/14. Two days later during the second load of laundry the machine quit during the middle of the wash cycle. The machine could not be restarted. The load could not be cancelled. The drain function would not work. I made the call for service.
Whirlpool customer service has been terrible. They have accused me of lying and not requesting service for my machine. I have talked to customer service people in Tennessee, Ohio and Michigan and the attitude was the same during each call. Every call is nearly 40-45 minutes with wait/hold times IF they don't disconnect you. During one call I asked to speak to a supervisor and after waiting 10+ minutes was told by the supervisor that the warranty work will basically "take as long as it takes" and they no responsibility or timeline commitments under the terms of the warranty NOR will they "restart" my warranty even though the washer broke during it's second load.
35-45 days in, I called Home Depot called Whirlpool, the tech gave me a schedule and was a no show. I called Home Depot again and was told "work with Whirlpool".
Today it is OCTOBER 3rd and I am still waiting for the machine to be fixed. This photo shows how the repair technician left the washing last Friday--wires and all exposed. The machine still doesn't work. Whirlpool has no new time line estimates. They won't replace the machine.
TWO PLUS MONTHS AND STILL WAITING FOR SERVICE!

I have a rental property that has a 27" hallway. Most machines now days are a minimum 27" x 29". I basically bought this unit which is 26" by default. However the quality is good. The price was right and the delivery and pickup of the old washer went extremely well. Very Pleased.

I replaced a two year old Maytag Centennial with this machine. After suffering for two years with that horrible Maytag (which finally became completely useless), I bought this one. I didn't want to spend too much after my experience with the Maytag because I figure if they are going to break in two years why pay a premium. The difference is amazing. Unlike the Centennial, this one starts filling immediately (rather than long minutes of "sensing"). The wash cycle is quick and I can run three times the number of loads in the same amount of time as with the old one. It works well. Quiet enough. And did I say, It works!???

We could have had the delivery guys hook it up for us, but we decided to re-organize our tiny laundry room and then hook it up ourselves. Connecting it was easy as one, two, three. This is a basic washer but very nice. It was a great sale price and we're happy we bought it.

Many years ago while I was serving in the Navy we needed to buy a washer. We went to the nearest department store which was Montgomery Wards. We selected a washer we could afford. The machine performed flawlessly during the time we owned it. We took the machine with us to various duty stations. Once I actually had to roll the machine into and out of a mobile home we owned. After discharge from the service we brought this machine with back to civilian life. After experiencing flooding in our basement we needed to replace the washer. Water had gotten into the transmission. We went to the Montgomery Wards in the city we lived and said we wanted the exact same machine we had gotten at one of their stores years earlier. They said the Montgomery Wards brand washer was no longer available but that it had been made by Admiral and showed us the one they offered. I noticed that the controls were identical to the old one we had and bought it. Again, this Admiral washer lasted twenty-five years. The springs that stabilize the tub became weak and the tub would unbalance frequently during the spin cycle. I tried but was unsuccessful in replacing them so we bought another Admiral washer but this time from Home Depot. Montgomery Wards no longer exists. This washer is now in service and based on our experience with this brand expect to get many years of reliable service from it.
