Retaining wall?

Is this product strong enough to hold up under 4 - 5 feet of dirt, so that it can be installed at the base of a retaining wall?

I am a certified, licensed wall installer. We do not use this product because it will plug with leaves and collapse over time. It will deteriorate after about 10 yrs. We use "sewer and drain" pipe. No problems. Does cost more.

How much water will a foot of this pipe collect ?

What size are the perforations & how many are in a foot . Do you have the intake thru the perforations for various heads of water? Thanks

depends on the in flow of the water , and then it all depends on the slits, and the 4 inches diameter of the tube, (almost 50 slits in each foot, transverse 1 inch slit like around the diameter in every 2 inches of tube length.the tube is very hard poly ethylene and sturdy but flexible, you may use Daniel Bernoulli's equation ( in the 17th century) to calculate the OUT FLOW: if the WATER pressure is unknown: V_2=V_1*A_1/A_2 WHERE A_1 AND A_2 ARE INITIAL AND FINAL CROSS-SECTIONAL AREAS RESPECTIVELY (MEASURED IN m^2). WATER DENSITY IS 1000 KG/M^3 NOW CONVERT ALL YOUR MEASUREMENTS TO SI UNITS, COVERT PRESSURE TO Pa, density to kg/m^3 height to m and velocity to m/s please note the height is measured from the center of the pipe. Bernoulli equation: P_1+0.5*d*(V_1)^2+d*g*(y_1)= P_2+0.5*d*(V_2)^2+d*g*y_2 WHILE P_1 AND P-2 ARE INITIAL AND FINAL PRESSURES, y_1 AND y_2 ARE INITIAL AND FINAL HEIGHTS, d is density of water. V_1 AND V_2 ARE INITIAL AND FINAL VELOCITIES. TO FIND V_1 (INITIAL WATER FLOW) SUBTRACT P_1 AND d*g*y_1 from both sides of the equation and then divide by [0.5*d-0.5*d*(A_1/A_2)^2] now take the square root of both sides to obtain the equation V_1={[P_2+d*g*y_1] / [0.5*d-0.5*d*(A_1 / A_2)^2]}^0.5 perform an analogous calculation to find final water flow...(for faster answer use your imagination and intuition!!!) THE TUBE IN QUESTION DEMONSTRATES EXCELLENT RESULT IN REAL LIFE WHEN INSTALLED ON MY PROPERTY. substitute your measurements for each variables and calculate the initial and final water flow in m/s

Be sure to add the sock cover so mud does not clog the drainage holes!! This drainage pipe was very easy to work with and very easy to cut to length. Very sturdy construction to hold up to the crushed stone backfill on top of it as well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from great when new, horrible a few years later 14 yrs a landscaper. This product is easy to install and is cheap compared to "sewer and drain" pipe. However, in a few years I get call backs to replace it because the ridges hold leaves and particularly pine needles. You can't roto rutter it because the bit will tear up the plastic. I don't use this product because of customer complaints.
