my wall unit does not have this type plug inn . how can you plug inn?

my wall unit does not have this type plug inn . how can you plug inn?
Asked by: smart
What do you mean by "wall unit"? This cord is intended to plug into a socket, either an ordinary 110 or 120 volt outlet that almost everything plugs into, or into a heavy-duty 220 or 240 volt socket that more commonly services an electric stove, electric dryer, or air conditioner. Most garages that have electrical service have 110/120 outlets. In your garage, you'd plug this into the same outlet that you would use to plug in a radio or a "trouble" light. You would need to pull off the 220 adapter that comes with the cord.

How fast will it charge a 2014 chevy spark ev if plugged in on regular outlet

Asked by: Sparkev
It depends. Your Spark can be charged at 8 amps (default) or 12 amps on 120V. I'm "assuming" this is what you mean by a "regular" outlet. At 8 amps, you're looking at about 1 kilowatt per hour or about 18-20 hours for an empty to full charge. At 12 amps, you're getting 50% more speed, or about 2/3 the charge time. On 240V, your Spark should charge at close to its 3.3 kWh max rate, or about 6-7 hours for a full charge. There are a number of factors that can affect charging speed, with temperature being one of the main ones. Also, this will need to be plugged in to a 15 amp circuit, with a 20 amp circuit being preferable. Having any thing else drawing from the same circuit simultaneously could risk tripping the circuit breaker.

I have a regular plug in my garage 110v I can use it with out any additional Electric cycle or specific plug?a

also I have Chevy volt 2013 how long is gonna take for full charge?
Asked by: joey
Yes, but it will only charge at the slower 110v rate. Be sure that you outlet is capable of handling the current that your EV will draw while charging.

The charger works well for standard outlets that are in walls inside of a building. However, for those outlets that are contained in electrical outlet boxes found on the outside of older buildings, the grey plug is so large that it cannot fit inside the outlet box, and therefore cannot be plugged into outlets in the box. This problem with the grey plug caused me to have to return this item so I could find a charger that has a plug that doesn't have the grey part to it which blocks me from plugging into outlet boxes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from More like 4.5 stars The cord works perfectly and it's a good length (about 20 feet). However, both plugs scuff and scratch rather easily. Be careful not to let them drag across your garage floor or the pavement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Cord Out There The TurboCord is amazing. The ability to go between 240v and 120v is priceless. The portability is also priceless. Great dual functionality works as advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For my 2015 volt I've had this charger for about month now and I love it! I only use the 240 volt charge at home and it get me charged super fast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super compact works flawlessly! More chargers should and I'm guessing soon will be like this. I have a chevy spark and carry this Turbocord with me so i can charge with 120 or 240 volts outlets just depends where you go... It is limited to 16 amps at 240v but in most cases that's fine (have you seen how small this is?) I carry an extension cord on a reel and charge pretty much everywhere.
