Just bought this spreader so I can not yet tell how well it will perform. But what I can say is that the documentation that comes with it leaves much to be desired. The assembly instructions are extremely basic and the assembly video that is implied to be on their website does not work. However, with trial and error I was able to eventually assemble using the pictures. I called their customer service to try and interpret the the confusing fertilizer application chart. While they were very friendly, they could not even directly reference what was provided with my product. But were familiar enough about it to say that they were surprised to here that this incorrect, outdated, and confusing chart was still being included. It was suggested that you calibrate it yourself. Not as much product support as I would have expected. Sort of lost me at the beginning
P.S. They chose not to print this review on their website because it did not meet their guidelines. Really? Don't see any guidelines.

I purchased this spreader for my lawn tractor and it was a big mistake. It is hard to use, because the lever is behind your back and you cannot reach it easily, plus you can't see what's happening. I burned my lawn because even using their setting suggestions it applied to much fertilizer. The stop for the lever that operates the shut off will move no matter how tight you make it, and not being able to see anything it just sucks.

This spreader was very difficult to assemble. First, the assembly manual was missing from the box, and the online instructions did not show how to assemble the wheel and axle to the frame. I eventually figured it out by studying the replacement part diagram, but it was rather annoying. Also, 4 of the bolts were the wrong length (luckily too long rather than too short). And, the nylon wingnut's ears snapped off the first time it tightened it. But, once assembled it worked as expected, and is more stable than the old Speedy Green that it replaced. I can deal with buying a replacement wing nut. So, I do recommend this product, but only for those of you who can handle a little frustration during the assembly process.

I purchased this product two months before i had the occasion to use it. When i did use it to spread some granular insecticide and fertilizer the cable that controls the gate became separated from its casing. So at this point to operate the gate i must hold the cable casing while pulling the handle. This process causes me to kneel next to the spreader to open the gate and while i mount the vehicle fertilizer piles up. For the money spent i expect a durable quality product and in that i am disappointed, and weary of agrifab

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by m173 terrible piece of equipment
This is a piece of junk...used for the firs
t time today...on first pass on lawn, the part of the housing fell off, the part that throws out the fertilizer stopped working...ten feet later one wheel stopped causing the spreader to turn over, dropping about twenty pounds of fertilizer on the lawn. if you are foolish enough to buy one, save the receipt, would need it for the refund. Thank you.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by lifeguard I love the ease of using this spreader.
I have 5acres to seed for pasture and to fertilize. With this spreader on the back of my riding lawn mower I was able to finish in no time at all.

An update to my previous review. Attached is a picture of the Control Cable Asy p/n 49447 ( part of the 4503881 model spreader). As you can see, the plastic ring that rotates on the cam to adjust the cable for fertilizer flow is too thin and it separates from the knob after a while. I tried to Gorilla Glue it, but it only lasted long enough to do half of my 1/2 lawn. Although the part broke, the spreader otherwise is very well built. How about a stamped metal part for the knob/ring.
