The plugin on the fan assembly in is polarized but the motor's plug is not polarized. The fan case is grounded.

Answer:
The grill is 10" x 9-5/8". The dry wall cutout is 8" x 8". The fan case mounts to ceiling joist before the drywall is installed. To install in a completed bath, you will need to cut a hole that may need to be restored as the grill may not hide the hole.

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good performance for a $13 price. I bought the fan to replace the motor/fan assembly on the fan installed in my 10-year old home. Same make and model, same cover. Amazon linked the motor assembly alone for $13 plus shipping. October 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks pleasing enough, kind of loud, (installed in with good support) Yes this fan is worth the money so far, Quiet and easy to install. Not to sure how long it will last but so far so good. February 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Value Just What I needed.. perfect fit... directions were clear.. the install was a snap December 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Product works Wanted just the fan but could locate. Needed to replace a burned out unit. Hate wasting the other components... Product itself installed in minutes and works as it should. March 3, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Easy installation--good price Replaced a fan which was defective with same unit so I did not have to replace housing and discharge . Was hard to get into attic to change out housing and increase vent size. January 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quieter thqan the last one For the money, I think this is an excellent value. It was easy to install and, although it is not the quietest fan around, it is much less noisy than the one that was there. It was also the least expensive vent fan offered by Home Depot. I had it shipped to the store, and it took a week and a day - which does seem a little long. The major selling point is the price, and the fact that it is quieter than all of the other fans offered by Home Depot up to $40 more expensive. July 23, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product for the price I needed a fan for a bathroom that won't be used often and didn't want to spend $100. I was shocked when I saw this one for so cheap and was a little skeptical but figured I would give it a shot. Installation was easy and it's very quiet. The flap inside to keep air from coming back in wouldn't stay in so I pulled it out and put a vent cover on the outside of the house with one on it. Thus far, I am very happy and think this was a great buy! December 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for the price I was replacing a worn-out exhaust in the cats' litter box room - minimal square footage, runs constantly. So far, no problems. Installation was easy. This is quieter than its predecessor but seems to get the job done. July 1, 2014
