I have an existing bath fan that is mounted up against a joist, but the installation diagram doesn't even show that it's able to be mounted in this way.

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exhaust fan The fan is quitter than I expected and the light is exactly what I wanted. August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by quality fan for price basic assembly; well constructed; quiet fan; night light in nice feature January 14, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great fan Fairly good installation instructions. When I got it all installed, it was not taking much air out of the room, so i thought it was faulty. I crawled back up in the attic, took the duct loose, turned it on, and the flapper opened fine. Hooked the duct back up, and it seemed to be pulling air through, but down in the bathroom, it was blowing more air down than pulling it out, and mirrors were steamy after a shower.. After a couple days, something happened and it has been pulling out air well ever since. No steamy mirrors! Maybe the fan was not aligned right. I feel I was very careful in handling and installing the fan. October 18, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by poorly constructed the installation in a tight space was a nightmare. The spot welds on the tracks for the mounting rails failed on one side. had to reattach it with screws after climbing back out of the attic. I would have expected better construction. January 30, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by not a retro fit fan Fan outlet opening should be exiting out the top, so as to clear insulation and should for 3"and 4" for flex duct openings. Light mount on to frame did not have any predrilled holes for mounting. Frame mounting brackets are not for a retro fit. January 14, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value product I replaced an existing exhaust fan so install was fairly easy. The fan is a little more noisy than my prior but does the job and takes a simple light, so you don't spend a lot on special light bulbs. Good value! December 17, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Fan was very poor quality. The fan wiring was not finished. The fan box was not finished and assembled. Poor workmanship even for this day and age. If you are not .prepared or able to finish assembly do not buy this product. December 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good fan Very functional and surprisingly quiet. Bathroom doesn't ever feel damp anymore. October 9, 2014
