Roughly 9"× 9" unless you know the size of the fan motor housing which you should know if you bought it to replace the old one. It s always safe to go smaller (8"×8") than bigger.but no bigger than your cover or face plate housing . or you will include a drywallrepair.

Customer Reviews

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value I purchased two of these fans for my bathroom remodel project. I installed them in the ceiling with insulated duct exhaust through the roof. The installation could not be simpler. You run a wire into the box with a removable access panel and connect the ground and two conductor wires with the easily identifiable and corresponding fan wires. There is a metal fan brace that nails or screws to a ceiling joist, and the fan simply snaps into place. The ceiling cutout does not need to be any larger than the fan chassis, but if you make it over-sized, the scissor spring connected cover will accommodate about an inch on each side. Fan noise is audible but muffled. I like to hear the fan operation, so I know when it is on. The fan quickly exhausts the moist air, much faster than the fans I replaced and at a rate with which I am very pleased. My mirrors do not fog while the fan is working. March 24, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bathroom Exhaust Fans by Air King Hi Folks, I bought two of these fans for my bathrooms almost two years ago. I finally called my Journeyman Electrician who is very good, and well learned in what he does; however, on installing the first fan he did not care for the design of the product--it was awkward, and nerve racking installing the fan. Mike, as usual got the fans installed, and working very well. I took a hot shower and the new fan worked great---no steam to wipe off the mirror which is great. Mr. Powers January 17, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Replacement bath fan. New bath fan is an exact replacement for my old GE fan--so no modifications needed to be made to my bathroom ceiling. It made the job very easy. November 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great at a nice price! Very reasonably priced and installed by our electrician in minutes. He did have to access from the attic for part of the install, but did not feel it was a difficult installation. We can hear it the fan, but it does not sound loud to my husband or myself. It does seem to be doing a nice job of ventilating the master bath. September 1, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Works but not as I expected. We purchased this fan to take out some more moisture as we also bought an indoor vent kit. For a 110CFM fan in a 45sqft laundry it doesn't do as much as I thought it would. I did the paper test after i installed it(where you see if it can hold a piece of paper against it while its on) and the paper did stick to it but fell off after 2-5 seconds. It does about the same as the previous 50CFM fan. I also didn't like the snap in installation. It is a great idea but trying to take it out was harder than the whole installation itself. It was an OK product and inexpensive but it let my hopes down. *Note*: this fan is bigger than most and the vent is a 4inch and not a 3inch as most are. November 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great fan, great service We had a 50 cfm fan and it seemed to take forever to remove the humidity in our 6 X 9 bathroom. Decided to replace it with the Air King BFQ 110. The fan works great. Takes the moisture out of the bathroom almost instantly! I no longer have to leave the fan on for 30 minutes after a shower. Nice and quiet too. Installation was also easy. There was a rattle with mine though. Seemed to be with the motor. Was brand new. Called Air King and they sent me a replacement motor in 3 days! Rattle is gone and everything works as it is supposed to. Great fan. Outstanding customer service. I highly recommend the Air King BFQ 110. September 19, 2012
