This is a monster fan. Not perfect for every situation. Its a pretty big unit. I bought 2 of them . My contractor let me know that in one bathroom it was to large and would not fit. He also told me that it wont work on first floor bathrooms in 2 floor homes, you need attic space to install. This is well made and suction is excellent . I could tell the difference right away. Have it installed by a professional . It is very quiet and it makes you think that it is not working properly, but it does work well. I see less steam and no more water on ceiling.

This fan can move some air. I had a problem with moisture staying on the walls and this fan takes it all out. Great product. Compared to what was taken out, this thing is a monster. I had to open the ceiling to fit the 13" x 12 3/4" housing. The rest of the install was fairly simple. Swap electric and mount the housing using the supplied adjustable brackets. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a dry bathroom.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by james improved use of vent free fireplace
We built a home in 2002 with a vent free fireplace. The by-products from the gas were becoming a problem.
I installed this exhaust fan above the fireplace in our 9' ceiling, exhausted it into the vented attic, very slight odor in the living area now. I wired it directly into the small light over the mantel so now a light is on and the fan removes the odor, etc.
This was the only solution to our problem other than just not using the "heater."
We are happy now...

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by eferhilda Great Fan -- Very quiet
Easily installed through the inside of the house (did not have to go into the attic). We enlarged the hole in the ceiling where the ceiling heater was previously installed. The fan is extremely quiet and works well -- a great buy!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hoan Powerful and quiet fan
The installation took me about 2 hours. My old one was very noisy and not working properly.
To prepare for the installation of the box, I connected the wire from the fan to the junction box since the fan has too small area to connect the wire. I noticed around the fan has some holes that can suck the air from the ceiling including the dust and insulation, so I used the aluminum tape to cover those holes.
After that, the installation was easy. Opening up the hole on the ceiling, and using the reducer from 6 in to 4 in, secure the fan to the joints. I also used the tape to cover the area around the fan and sheetrock, so the dust and insulation cannot get down to the bathroom.
To test the fan: I closed the bathroom door and turned on the fan. I could feel the strong wind come under the door.
I'm happy with the fan. No more noisy and moisture in the bathroom.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by KenC Super Quiet..but lacks quality construction
Installed the fan about a week ago. It does an excellent job of clearing the steam from the bathroom when someone is showering. It's so quiet, I really can't tell its on unless I look at the switch. Just based on performance so far, I would have rated it 5 stars. But my issue is with the construction quality of the unit; the metal housing bends easily. Not sure how, but I bent the flange that is suppose to be flush against the ceiling. The joist hangers are also made of thin metal that bends easily and don't do a great job holding the fan firmly. Finally, according to the instructions there is suppose to be a plastic trim moulding; it wasn't included in the box. This was an online purchase so I'm still working with Home Depot to have this part shipped to me.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ddzet Superior product and great value.
The AirKing Quiet Zone 150 CFM Fan is easy to install. More importantly, it is exceptionally quiet! When the fan is on, it is almost inaudible.
