I would have given this product a 5 star rating except for some minor issues. There are manufacture holes al lover the housing of the unit. I closed them up with aluminium tape. The mounting brackets are pretty good. It solidly mounted the fan to the rafters. No rattling or noises. The flang should be a full one inch instead of 3/4. The wiring box is to small and there is room for a bigger one. All in all, once installed, this is a quiet awesome fan. I am very pleased with it and it was worth the work to install this larger than normal unit. Probably should hire an installer if you are not a handy man oriented individual.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JBJR Mounting hardware updated
Needed more cfm's than a stock fan. Had to order on line, ordered on Sunday at store, arrived at my home on Tuesday. . After opening the box found that they changed the mounting hardware. On HD website, instructions showed L brackets that sat on top of the joist. New hardware slides vertical into the sides of joist. I don't have enough room to get to the back side due to the slope of the roof. Very disappointed, would not have ordered knowing this. Is made to install on 16" centers, and is on the heavy side, must secure both sides Unit seems well built, and can easily remove motor and fan for cleaning.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Chuck1962 Well-built product
I put one of these in on the weekend, found it easy to install and well-built. It's quieter than you might think, though it has about ten times the capacity of the tiny fan most builders put in homes.
Even though I had attic access, I noticed that because the bottom flange and output duct is removeable I could have installed it by working only through the hole in the ceiling. I wish all fan makers would tell you that in their ads.
BTW, the flapper valve is a work of art. I need a good flapper so my whole-house fan doesn't suck hot air out of the attic via the bathroom fans.

After installation, which I did myself, I can say that I am quite pleased with this fans performance. It is quiet as advertised, but not silent and one should not expect that. I found the construction of the unit to be better than adequate. My only complaint were the holes in the body of the housing from when it was manufactured. I closed them up with heating duck tape. Not a big deal.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Girlygirl Looks good, sounds terrible!
We purchased the 200 CFM Air King over the internet to replace our current exhaust fan that was way to small for the room that the previous owners had installed. After having the electrician resize the ceiling to fit the 200 cfm model and installing it it was so noisey and rattly he suggest we order a new one to see if the next one would be any better. The second one was even worse! Our electrician believes it's the squirrel cage design that is causing the issues with this product. The drum is not stable and causes this product to sound terrible. After a lot of our time and monies owed to the electricians we went to Lowes and purchased a 140 CFM Broan Elite exhaust fan and had another electrician install it. The Broan Elite works beautifully and is so quite it's wonderful! So after spending around $800.00 and still having to return the fans to Homedepot, we can truley say that this product needs a total overhaul in it's internal design and Homedepot should not be selling this kind of product to it's customers!!! :(
