Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Harry Worst customer service ever
Ours hasn't worked properly after a few months. I guess that can happen w any thing. However, it has been OVER ONE YEAR! And Williams has done NOTHING other than make us run through hoops. When our installer tries to get a replacement, they ignore his emails & phone calls for several weeks. When he finally reaches them, Williams says "Oh, there's a return form you need". Instead, they send hm the user's manual! They say they need to inspect it - & send a sales guy! I finally email Williams directly - & they have the unmitigated gall to say "contact the installer - he's dealing with it" - in response to an email thread where the installer tells them they are giving him nothing but the run-around.
NEVER, EVER buy ANYTHING from Williams

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by musty works great......but
warranty covers parts only. got mine and it did not work out of the box. it had a leak at the expansion valve. company told me to return it to home depot, then i would have to wait weeks for another one and hope it had no problems. fan speed was set too high also. this unit needs to be installed by an experienced hvac contractor. fan speed needs to be adjusted and the unit needs to be set up to .6 inches water column external static pressure to work as designed. so, after 300 bucks to fix leak, fill with refridgerant set up pressures and add trap to condensate line, it works good.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hillbilly Bought three of them for different properties.
Bought three, have two installed, worked great for about three days, started tripping the breaker, fans run, but compressor does not. Compressor hums then shuts off. Reluctant to install third one due to track record of other two. Calling Home Depot next week to return.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Blues4u2 Works as advertised
I installed the unit myself as a stand alone unit in a large crawl space. I live in the south with extremely high humidity, and this reduced the humidity in my crawl space and reduced sweating from my air ducts. Great purchase!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Alex noisy but cheap and effective
If you're researching these, you have probably noticed that this has better specs (dehumidification capacity and CFM from the blower) than higher-end models, at half the price. I think I made the right choice for my application, but there are some tradeoffs.
First, the good news:
This is more effective, quieter (if you install it in a closet), and probably more efficient than having multiple portable units (which is what I would have needed to dry our basement). I installed it in independent mode (bypassing the HVAC and running only when the HVAC blower is off), so the higher CFM of this unit comes in handy. It dries our 600 sq ft. basement nicely without the need to run the much larger and noisier HVAC fan.
It is fairly easy to install per the instructions, and it works fine with a remote dehumidistat (I recommend the DG115EZ true IAQ from Honeywell).
Why it is cheap:
--it's very large and weighs at least 150 lbs.
--fit and finish is so-so---hard to get the screws back in if you take a side panel off.
--it is probably noisier and less efficient than the competition. Though quieter in the basement closet than a portable would be sitting out in the room, the compressor has a low rumble that you can definitely hear upstairs---and I have it sitting on a concrete floor. Some more soundproofing may be in order.
--when used with the remote dehumidistat, the unit still cycles through a 5-minute humidity measuring mode where it runs the blower without the compressor. This is a waste of energy and time, especially when the AC is cycling a lot. So on hot days, I've started running the portable continuously, because the compressor never get a chance to get the coils cool.
--warranty covers parts only, so this is not for the faint of heart. Installation is fairly do-able for an average DIY person, though.
Overall it has worked well---hopefully it will continue to do so!
