Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderbear A Bit Pricey But Well Made
I would have given this 5 stars if it were not for the installation instructions which were poorly written, mostly from the standpoint of step progression. Still I muddled through. Fan is gorgeous and the remote works well including brightening and dimming both lights (the receiver doesn't look like it will go in the fan housing but it will once you figure out how). The fan direction switch requires you to undo the housing but it is only twice a year so no biggie. This fan needs at least a 10' ceiling, and even then you may prefer to purchase a shorter down-rod before putting it together.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by RW1422 Beautiful fan, but before you buy it you need to know........
This fan does not use the standard size down rods that are sold at HD. It takes a 1/2" rather than a 3/4". I needed a longer down rod than the fan came with, and went to HD to buy it to discover they did not carry the size I needed. I did not have time to purchase the rod on-line becasue my installer was on the way. I had to install the fan with the rod that was included, and I am not 100% happy with that.
Also, the uplights are 15W night light bulbs, and really do not highlight my vaulted ceiling the way I was expecting them to.

I love this fan! Looks great in my living room. Love the up and down lights and the remote. Price was better then all other places I found this exact fan! Very quiet, offers excellent light and just looks awesome!!! Great buy!

Looks amazing. but... the light areas are completely enclosed and get Very hot. The downlight starts to smell like burning when its on for more than 10 min! Id return but would rather just dimm it and not pay to take it down and find another fan. this one looks so nice... fan works great!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RitaM Super attractive with nice uplight feature.
I had a Casablanca fan in this room and it broke after less than 4 years of very light use. It still had the original light bulbs, we used it so seldom it broke before we could replace it. I was upset because I liked the uplight feature and couldn't find that in many fan/light combos. That feature casts a nice ambiance in the room. I found this at HD and like it so much better. It is more attractive and hopefully, it will last longer. It was also $150 less than the Casablanca was 4 years ago. So it was a good value as well as being super attractive in my room. Not super moden - just a little contemporary. Really nice looking and works well too. The negative is that in order to reverse the direction of the blades you have to get on a ladder up in the fixture. It is kind of a pain but it isn't anything we do frequently. Overall love the fan/light..

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by skiwith Lovely Fan, hangs low, not as bright as you might like.
This fan looks so great in my 1950's retro kitchen. It matches the chrome and I couldnt be happier with it.
It's quiet and moves lots of air.
It has 3 nightlight bulbs in the uplight and 2 60w in the base. It dosn't seem to put out that much light and the dimmer is fairly sensative so you rarely get to max brightness on the first go. Certainly will need other lighting in the room.
The fan is 14"+ and comes with a long down rod. When I first put this up, I felt like the fan was brushing my hair and intruding into the room too much.
I had to cut the downrod to 4", the minimum you could use and still get the canopy shrouds in place. I have 8' ceelings. Cutting the rod was easy but you may want to have a drill press to make a hole for the pin. Or just order a 4" downrod when you order the fan.
Also, the clearance between the canopy and my box was so tight, I couldn't get in the included remote relay box up above it without chiseling into my plaster ceiling a tiny bit.
Still, a lovely, quiet fan. Just make sure if you only have 8' get a short down rod.
