This fan vibrates a lot when used in the down position. Does not fit snug against the ceiling. Cannot be used with a hydrastat controller for fan and light it does not state this in the description. If the direction would also tell you how to release the fan base from the connectors I would take it down in a heart beat. Don't waste you money. Choose something else. After this experience I would not by any fan made by this company!

Love it. Have a large bedroom so wish the blades were a little longer.

Have never owned a new ceiling fan as "temperamental" as this one. After running (at any speed, either direction) for several hours, it develops a nice grinding metal "purr" from the motor casing. Loud enough to either wake us up or keep us up. Can hear it from outside the room. Turning it off for a while seems to reset the problem. This kind of defeats the purpose of a fan though.
This is the first Air Ryder product we've purchased. We bought it strictly on looks and the remote feature, assuming it would function properly. Took longer to balance than any of the other dozen or so fans (Harbor Breeze, Hampton Bay) I've installed through the years as well.
Here's the worst part: we exchanged the first one for a replacement fan. Same issues! Finally, this fan happens to be the most expensive that we have ever purchased anywhere. Looking for same design, different manufacturer now.
