Customer Questions & Answers

I need to replace broken slats o vertical blinds (alabaster) of almost 94"; how can I get them?

Asked by: Leonor
As a landlord and needing to watch costs, I flip the panels over and cut a slot into the bottom to reuse them. If they are shot, you may be able to purchase another blind pack from Home Depot.

Yes, everything you need is included.

can these blinds be trimmed length wise to fit a height shorter than whats advertised, my room height is limited so wanted to know if I could trim the vanes down to a 78 in length?
Asked by: jplanny
Sure, they are made of PVC but you must cut them with a good tool. Another tip I have learned is if the notch at the top of the blind breaks, cut another at the bottom of the blind and flip it over, saves replacing the blind.

Can several of these kits be connected to cover a glass exterior wall?

Asked by: USNMSTNG
You could probably mount them side by side, but honestly I don't think they'd last long outside. They are too lightweight. I would recommend a heavier vertical.

Replacement slats?

I just put these up in my condo and my dog tore 6 of them down. Can I buy single replacement blinds or re-buy a whole set and take some blinds out of them?
Asked by: Claire
I believe you can get replacement wands at any Home Depot. They only come in a package, but you will be ready the next time your dog is naughty.

Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. We do see that there is a universal wand that is able to be used with your vertical blinds .If you would just place the Internet number 100115595 in the search line on the Home Depot website. you will see the wand. We hope this will help in your project. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot.

how durable are the vanes?

Are the vanes made out of plastic?
Asked by: Jg1
I have found them very durable. Possibly the weakest area is the notch at the top of the blind where the clip catches the blind. If I break one, I notch the bottom and flip it over.

The slats are lightweight and filter the light but do not block it out. The operation is simple and installation was fairly easy too. It did the job for me. One day I may upgrade it to something more substantial, but I am for now pleased with the appearance. It did the job

But pure white was not advertised making me assume it does not come in white. Two months later it was advertised in white. Why weren't both colors advertised at the same time, with one having the comment "out of stock'?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from These are OK, but a bit translucent None of the other reviews stated that they don't completely block out light, they don't. I have other vinyl vertical blinds throughout the house that completely block out light and assumed these would do the same, nothing fancy. You can see light through it (although not a ton) during the day, and you can see light from the outside at night. Kinda bummed, my other blinds totally block light. If I would have known, I would have bought better ones. I hope this is helpful to someone else. They are otherwise okay, install okay, operate fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks Great I bought 4 of these today to replace curtains. These are so easy to put up and doesnt take long. They are very lightweight and I put them up myself in about 20 minutes. I have seen some reviews of people complaining about the Valance. I see nothing wrong with the valance and had no problem putting it on.I think they look great and you can't beat the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not Just for Sliders My dad got me a new bedroom suit as a graduation gift about 12-years ago. Long story short, my old window covering didn't match my new "ensemble". I had one long window with a Levolor vertical blind and figured I'd just buy new vanes. Yeah, right! Those were around $5 apiece back then and I would have needed about 30 -- plus a new valance. At just a little over $25, the choice was simple. As this is intended for a slider door, the vanes had to be shortened. A tape measure, straight edge, pencil, utility knife and about 30-minutes was all it took. Score the vane with a blade on the back side and it snaps off easily. Another 20-minutes to drill, place the hardware and hang. Done. This looks every bit as good as the custom blind it replaced. The quality of the mechanism is clearly inferior to the Levolor, but since I rarely open or adjust it, it was of little consequence. This isn't marketed as "room darkening" -- so if you work the graveyard shift, you may be disappointed. My student loans are long paid off, but I still have this blind on my window!
