Customer Reviews

5,000-Watt Gasoline Powered Digital Inverter Generator with Electric Push Start-DISCONTINUED is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks great but dissappointed twice Order one returned it, ordered another returned it also. The first one I ordered when I opened the box I noticed that the wheels and brackets that you attach to the generator looked liked it had been on the unit and taken off. (Display Model?) (Paint chiped, some light rust). So I put gas and oil in it, started right up no problem. This one had zero time on the hour meter. I called the warranty dept and asked that they send me 2 new brackets for the handle that you lift the unit with. They sent me two brackets that was also used! (rusted, paint chips etc) Decided to try the recoil start, never got it to work even one time. Returned to Home Depot, got refund, ordered another one open the box same thing with the brackets and wheels, (used) only this time it did not appear that they were on the machine originally. Put oil & gas in it started right up, but I noticed it had 3 hours and 48 min already on it! Tried the recoil start which worked fine. Tested the unit on my home with a transfer switch and it worked fine. A few day later tested it again and the battery was almost dead. I may have left the switch that you have to put in the on position on, not really sure if it was me or the machine. Use the pull start to get it going. Charged the battery it started right up, but the next 3 days I had a hard time starting it with the electric start, had to try it 3-4 times before it would start AND the recoil start NEVER worked after that. Also the 60db rating is not true. I tested it with a i-phone decibel app and at 23 ft it was 73-74 db. The one positive thing I can say is the warranty dept was very good and had a good system in place. They wanted to give me a new one but I returned it to Home Depot again. I decided to go with one of the 2 more expensive brands.
