What does "no relamping" mean? Can the bulb not be replaced?

Asked by: danerlu
This is an LED lamp, and the LED's can not be replaced. Keep in mind they will last many years over.

I have 6 of these installed and one appears to have water inside and is now flickering. The others are fine. What would cause the flickering?

Asked by: Frustrated
I also have a few of these and after a year one of them started to flicker quite a bit. removed casing and discovered some water had seeped in. My remedy was to dry the inside of the floodlight completely and then resealed the unit with my own made gasket. That worked for me and after 6 months the light is still working as it should. That said, if any doubts it is best to exchange it. Sorry I cannot assist you more.

What causes a new light to blink on and off?

Asked by: cdk
Dear valued consumer, the photocell is likely receiving reflected light from the LED within the fixture and needs to be repositioned to avoid blinking or strobing. Reflective surfaces such as walls, gutters and eaves should be taken into consideration when identifying possible sources of light feedback for proper installation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the aluminum case. Replacing my old 2 year-old halogen lamp with this ALL-PRO, unit is far better and more cost effective than any unit I have tried. On the box it states it uses 20.8W. The one I took off the wall used 150W and yet the 20W from the All-pro is not only brighter with sharper edges in the shadows, it uses up to eight times less power than the halogen. LED's is certainly the way forward both for cost and reliability, not forgetting being environment friendly. The tough aluminum casing is both pleasing to the eye and fixes to the surface of the wall/eave easily. The supplied cover plate was not needed as I connected it to a preexisting junction box. As soon as it was active, it was on full power and it lit up the 40 feet I had angled for flooding the area with light. I would have liked it to switch on a little sooner rather than total darkness. Having said that I am going to Home Depot to buy some more and will replace my older style outside lights. They are well worth the cost. Applying a little silicone grease to the gasket, the seal is good and waterproof. Added photo is right out of the box.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Decent light for the money Had high hopes of this light and it has fairs OK so far..... Installed last week and on the first night we had a heavy rain storm, I was excited to see how it would fair in the storm. Light was installed by licenced electrician and was installed per the directions along with the "weather proof" gasket. and was addidtional silicone caulked around the exterior. The following day after the rain the clear light hood was filled with condensed moisture. The light remains working, but the moisture has not come out of the light head. Cant speak yet to the longevity, but clearly the light isnt as weather proof as they say. I will so though that it is a very bring light and I am very pleased with the brightness, mobility of the light head, and the ease of instalation. But dont be fooled, this light is not completely weather proof. I'll update again after several months and see how it lasts or humid summers and bitterly cold winters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality and Energy Saving Installation Guidance: The cover-plate for this light is meant to mount to a RECESSED standard CIRCULAR or OCTAGONAL junction box at least 1-1/2 inch in depth. (That might have caught someone unawares and why our purchase looked like it had been returned (e.g. wire-ends were not “fresh” and some screws were loose in the box)). ALSO make sure the light is NOT in a shaded location or it may not function properly as dusk-to-dawn. The manufacturer recommends wall or eave mounting only. Meeting those pre-requisites, we’re VERY satisfied with the high quality of this fixture. It has a cast aluminum metal body (smartly finished in a neutral dark bronze), a clear wide plastic lens, and 4 LED’s with a reflector to maximize light output. The finished installation also allows for adjustment of the light direction: it swivels 180” top-to-bottom (with a thumb-screw to hold the position) and swivels 360” side-to-side (tightened with a jam nut). Other than that, it’s a simple wall-switch on or off. It’s an uncomplicated hard-wire install. The diagrams are clear and large enough to decipher; the written step-by-step instructions are detailed and easy to follow. There’s a selection of both #6 and #8 screws to adapt to the existing junction box, a weatherproofing gasket, and some plastic screw cover-caps to add to the finished appearance. You’ll also need a Phillips screwdriver and some weatherproof silicone caulk to finish the job . Although I’m a skeptic as to the life of LED bulbs (this one claims 35,000 hours of light), I justify the purchase on reduced energy consumption and costs. Rated at 20.8W, this is a 90W equivalent (but seems brighter than our yellower incandescent bulbs); a great feature for something burning long hours through the night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Attractive, Very Bright At first I wasn't sure about getting a single head flood light, because my existing fixture has two heads. However, this All-Pro LED dusk-to-dawn outdoor light fixture produces a generous amount of light, so even though I can't cover the same area as I could with a two head fixture, it is still sufficient for my needs. I was replacing an existing fixture, so I already had the correct junction box -- the instructions indicate you will need a recessed mounted standard junction box, round or octagonal, at least 1.5" in depth. Instructions also recommend installing at least 10 feet above the ground and away from any windows, white surfaces or water which could reflect light onto the sensor. You will also need weatherproof silicone caulk. The picture and written instructions were easy to decipher, but since this was only my third time installing any type of electrical fixture, there were a few trial and error moments for me (be sure the photo sensor is at the bottom, not pointed towards the top!). This fixture has a nice charcoal grey finish on sturdy metal and I am encouraged that the finish will stand up to Florida air which has a tendency to eat away at metal surfaces. The photo on the box of the light fixture makes it appear there is a frosted cover on the light, but in fact the light has a clear glass cover with white metal inside and four tiny LED bulbs (see picture). I am able to adjust the light head both up/down and left/right using the two knobs on the fixture which loosen easily yet tighten securely (see picture). The instructions have a helpful Troubleshooting section in case the light doesn't come on or turn off as it should. The light has 35,000 hours of life - I use it 12 hours each night, so in theory it should last me 8 years. The product comes with a 3-year warranty, and warranty service requires a receipt showing date of purchase and applies to the product only (installation labor charges not included). I can't find anything in the directions concerning bulb replacement, so it's my sense that once the bulbs wear out, the entire fixture will need to be replaced? However, there are screws on the light faceplate which would allow you to get to the bulbs, so perhaps they could be changed out if you could find these exact bulbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Impressive Lil Guy... for as small as this light is, i must admit, it is very impressive. I actually purchased another of this identical one and also several of the motion style of this brand. I cant believe my energy savings. My energy has not budge much with these and the are brighter that incandescent bulbs, only with savings tho. My neighbor noticed them and was impressed as well. Al together i have about 6 of these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice bright good looking little light. This is one bright little light. I believe you could use this as landing light on a small airplane. Ok, it's not that bright, but it's the brightest entry light I've ever installed on the house. But than again, I'm used to a light with a yellow 40W bulb. The light came with all the hardware you need to install it. It was a little tricky to install, but manageable. It's a good looking little light. Definitely improvement to looks of the outside house. The wife even likes it! Anyhow, I'm very glad to have this unit.
