It's quite tricky to get the magnet aligned. Must read the instruction and follow it carefully. After 10 minute of practice, I can perform the set up with ease.

Like I said, came broken so I had to return it. When I tried to reorder it, it's already out of stock. Are they ever going to be in stock anymore?

This lamp ships almost all assembled, you just have to set up the shade using the disk and guide which takes less than 2 minutes.
The metallic lamp base and tower has nice chrome finish and the shade’s base material is all plastic.
Lamp is controlled by one single touch button that turns on/off the LEDs. There are 6 LEDs pointing upwards and 3 pointing downwards. You can control top or bottom LEDs separately.
I truly was amazed watching the shade just hovering in the air. The lamp sits in my home office, it looks great and I enjoy watching it. It's an awesome product!

The lamp looks awesome be it in your home or office and a definite eye-catcher/conversation starter. Comes almost with everything to get it started except the installation manual, which is a bit weird. I had to spend some time to figure out that unless the lamp is connected to the outlet, the magnet will not hover. Anyways, after installation the results were fantastic and as you can tell from the pictures and video that it looks amazing. The good part is it comes with built in led lights, so no worries of power consumption and bulb changing. There are three different light settings, upwards downwards and combined. The only flaw I found with the product was that finishing of the shade is not very good i.e it does not look seamless. Overall highly recommended if you are a tech freak.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by freelyelee Awesome lamp...for adults
This lamp is a fun conversation piece best suited for adults.
Set-Up: Relatively straightforward set-up with good instructions. The lamp works by centering an extremely strong magnet in the center of the lamp base, and then resting a shade on top of this floating magnet. This is a little more difficult than it sounds and took me multiple attempts to get the magnet aligned just right (and in one smooth movement). A guide piece is provided to help center the magnet on the base. Once set-up, it is somewhat fragile (you wouldn't be able to move it from one place to another without having the lamp shade collapse, which is why I noted this is best for adults).
Light: The lamp has two light settings- An uplight from the top of the lamp and then a downlight that illuminates the base. Neither light is strong enough to read by, and is likely best suited for ambient lighting/a night light. No light comes from the shade as in typical lights (which makes sense given that it floats) but is still worth noting.
Overall appearance: Stainless steel base with solid black shade (plastic/vinyl material). Very modern looking and sleek. Would look great in an office or more modern living/bed room.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MarilynB WHAT AN AMAZING LAMP!!
This unique lamp is so enjoyable! Assembly was extremely quick and easy and the effect of the lamp shade floating & spinning in the air is amazing. I love the variety of lighting levels - you can choose the top 6 LEDs, the bottom 3 LEDs, or both top and bottom LEDs.
The lamp arrived very well packaged, with the lamp and shade completely wrapped in plastic film. The power cord is about 6' long, the lamp is 16.5" tall, and the black plastic shade itself is 4.5" tall.
The instructions are easy to follow, but assembly was even simpler than it looked.
1-plug lamp in
2- place clear plastic disc on top, put tiny plastic alignment pin into center hole
3-place black tube down in center with ledge facing upwards
4-hold magnet (flat side facing up) about 1" above tube, then drop it -it goes right inside the tube
5-slowly lift & remove black tube
6-lower lamp shade onto the floating magnet (the magnet fits right inside the hole in the bottom of the shade)
7-adjust light level to your liking
The button on the base is very sensitive, you barely have to touch it to control the lighting.
1st touch = both top and bottom LEDs
2nd touch = bottom LEDs only
3rd touch = top LEDs only
4th touch = OFF
This certainly is a great conversation piece at a great price! The shade will continue spinning in the air even when the lights are off. It will only fall if you unplug it or if your power fails. I plan on placing some sort of decoration on the shade so the spinning effect is more noticeable.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jimmy The lamp from the future!
I was a little skeptical about this lamp at first, but those feelings soon vanished when I took the lamp out of the box. The lamp is fully assembled aside from the magnetic top that needs to be set. The instructions were very easy and if you need additional assistance I would recommend checking the video of this lamp, which can be found in the photos for this item. The video gives a visual demonstration on how to install the magnet and the top shade.
It took me more than a few tries to get the magnet perfectly centered and in levitating just right. Dont give up if you are getting frustrated, it can be done!
I set this lamp up in my office and it attracted everyones attention within the first few days. The only downside to this lamp is that everyone wants to see how it works and they move the magnet, leaving you to reset the magnet back into position. So my advice would be to place the template and magnet installation tube in a safe place for when someone moves it.
I really love this lamp and it does give off sufficient light with three different lighting functions.
