What setting for Scott Turf Builder Weed and FeedControl (32247-29725)?

Scott directions recommend setting at 3 ½ but Allfit scale is 0-30. What is equivalent Allfit setting? Thanks.

I usually have feed set at 4 but it is also how fast you are moving.

Can I pull it behind an ATV at slow speeds and will it be able to spead sand?

Asked by: Kenny
My last spreader lasted 11 years before it rotted out from sand and salt mixture. The key is to keep the product dry no matter what you put in it. I keep sand in a 5 gal bucket then pour it in spreader when needed. It works great to sand driveways. small enough to not weigh a ton when full.

It is practically useless because it tips over constantly. The hitch bracket is made of very thin, cheap, and soft aluminum. This makes the bracket extremely weak and unable to hold the spreader upright reliably. It twists off the hitch very easily with only a single 40 lb. bag. It is quite a disaster to turn around and see $50 worth of fertilizer laying in a pile on your lawn because the spreader tipped over....mostly unrecoverable and leaving a huge burn spot. Surely there must be a retrofit for this bracket that is made of steel which might solve this issue.

I have only used it once, but it performed better than the negative reviews led me to believe it would. After reading the good and bad reviews I decided to take a chance. Based on the issues the negative reviews revealed, I made sure to assemble it carefully and use it properly. I covered my 3/4 acre lawn with it without any issues. I was careful not to turn too fast so I wouldn't have the tipping issue, and I was careful to set the spreader settings properly. Even though my review is good, I will point out two issues I faced. 1) The instructions were not clear enough to put it together in 15 minutes, so it took me about an hour. 2) It spread well, but that is relative coming from me because I don't have a better spreader to compare it to.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not acurite the instructions came with incompletely numbered parts to find, there were missing steps, like the "V" brakes and plastic part that goes with it..I almost broke the attachment bar trying to figure out how to get everything together with the "V" bar. Also this product, while towing it behind you pulling it, throws products to the right mostly. very brittle design and don't believe it will last a year or two. to be honest about it...disappointed in this home depot product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is a joke. This product is a complete waste of time and money. The wheel base is too narrow. Tipped over on me and spilled half the product on the ground within the first turn. Some of the assembly steps were literally not even printed on the instruction booklet. And, the slide stop will not tighten down and continuously opened wide open allowing product to WAY over spread. NOT HAPPY, AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE

I use it to distribute particle fertilizer 3-4 times per year on my 1 acre lawn. I can say without hesitation that the wheelbase is too narrow. I have had this filled to various levels, have had my lawn tractor at different speeds, and yet this thing still tips over at least once per session despite my carefulness. It did it again tonight which prompted me to write a product review to save others from buying it. There is nothing like spending $50 on a bag of fertilizer only to see it dumped out in a big pile in the grass with this spreader being towed sideways. Any bump or mildly uneven surface in your yard will tip this spreader over. The wheels are cheap plastic so any surface imperfection is magnified when rolled over. Please, spend a little more money and get a decent broadcast spreader or just get a wide walk behind model, which is what I plan to do.

I tipped it over with 50 lbs in it. The spread adjuster works fine. Assembly does NOT take 15 minutes as the box suggests. More like 45 minutes. I gave it three stars because it was easier than my push spreader and it only cost $63 which was least expensive I saw.

Got the job done, but spreader is very unstable and turns must be made very slowly, while holding onto the spreader. Also instructions were absolutely horrible...steps missing, no info on certain parts. Had to figure much out on our own. Package says 15 minutes assembly time...WRONG! More like 2 1/2 hours!

However, that is the only positive thing I can say about it. It does an extremely poor job of even distribution and the ability to accurately set the amount of product to be dispensed. It is a terrible product. I am returning it to the store.
