I had over-the-ear protectors that were too bulky to hang around my neck when not actively using the table saw or router. Bought these, and in addition to fitting around my neck, the sound protection is much better than I had. I bought these thinking, "these are so light weight could they really be effective?" They're excellent.

They are decent hearing protection. Not for prolonged use if your shooting high velocity rounds like an AR. After around 60 rounds I was done using these. Works well while hunting bring your only shooting a few times.

I did not think this device could work well, it doesn't even look like a sound supresser. I bought it on a Friday afternoon for use the next week when I would be around a lot of noise. But Saturday morning a friend called and asked me to go to the shooting range with him. I have a shooting bag ready with eye and ear protection, ammo, and other shooting stuff, but at the last minute I thought to throw the Allen Sound Sensor Hearing Protection in the bag to try them out. I was shocked at how well they worked. It was almost as good as my expensive electronic ear muffs. I now have a pair of Allen Sound Sensor Hearing Protection in my shooting bag, and another at work.

This hearing protection is for light duty only. Maybe a drill press or scroll saw but not a router or table saw to much sound makes it to your ears.

These go an excellent job of shutting out loud noises and they are very comfortable to wear. When they are not needed you can put them around you neck or fold them and stick them in your pocket.
