AllergyZone furnace and air conditioning filters are designed and recommended by leading allergy and asthma physicians for superior performance and symptom relief. They capture up to 95% of airborne particles and minimize exposure to smaller contaminants that may trigger allergy and asthma symptoms, while allowing excellent air flow throughout the life of the filter. A Children’s Hospital Healthy Home study supported in part by The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) showed a decrease in asthma related symptoms (wheezing and cough) when HVAC systems were serviced with an AllergyZone filter. AllergyZone filters are constructed using only premium grade components, including a 2-piece double wall frame for durability in the air stream and a unique filter media that will not support microbial growth.

  • Only filter proven effective in a clinical trial
  • Pleated filter media is 500% more effective than ordinary fiberglass filters
  • Turns your HVAC system into a whole house air cleaner for just pennies a day
  • Lasts up to 90 days between filter changes
  • Professional grade construction for superior performance and durability
  • Dual-layer electrostatic filtration media improves small particle capture
  • Filter thickness is an 1/8 in. greater than other brands which reduces leakage of dirty around the filter and the holding frame

Does it matter if I rotate the width and height so it fits my 24 width by 20 height filter holder? My filters are supposed to be 24 wide by 20 high!

16 in. x 20 in. x 1 in. FPR 10 Air Filter for Allergy Sufferers (4-Pack) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 218.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Breath Free I'm in charge of our church facility and maintain the building. Part of that responsibility is seeing that all who attend are as comfortable as possible. We have a few who are suffers of allergies to the point there are some days they cant attend due to reactions to pollen and other elements in the air. I take great pride in seeing that when they do arrive they can sit and relax during the service with out worry about any allergic attacks due to contaminates in the air. These filters are well worth the money. They help keep the dust down in the sanctuary, keeping the audio and video equipment cleaner, plus filtering out other elements letting all who attend the service to breath free and focus on worship and learning. I change these about every month during the summer when things are dry and more dust from outside makes it's way in. We can go about 2 months or more during the winter. If these can help a large sanctuary they are a must in your home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Allergy Sufferers Delight I would give this filter 5 stars but not everything is perfect. My wife and son, myself included, all have allergies. I change our filters every 3 months and sometimes 2 months. Right now with all the unexpected warm weather we are having in southern Missouri, things are starting to bloom early. This means pollen season is here early. I was given for my honest opinion, 16 in. x 20 in. x 1 in. FPR 10 Air Filter for Allergy Sufferers to evaluate. I am not being paid for this review in any way. When the filter arrived, I took the old one I had in and replaced it with the new filter. My old filter was just changed about 2 weeks ago. I have two Beagles that are house dogs so we have hair and dander everywhere. We just replaced the carpet with Pergo flooring from Home Depot to help with the hair problem. I began to notice a difference after about one week of the new filter install. We were all sneezing less and there seemed to be less dust laying on the wood furniture. My wife usually has puffy eyes and they often tear up as well. She said she was not feeling as bad as she normally does since we changed filters. All in all I would recommend this filter to all who suffer from allergies, or just want a cleaner home. They are no more expensive than the others and you can buy them in four packs. Change one every three months and you have a year's supply.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Allergy Zone FPR 12 Air Filter I apologize in advance for this lengthy review, but we as consumers often overlook the importance of seemingly simple items that we use in our homes every day. Upon doing a bit of research, I find that there is an almost overwhelming amount of varying opinion in regard to the appropriate air filtration required and/or recommended for the conventional home heating and cooling system. There are two common rating systems, MERV (minimum efficiency reporting value) and FPR (Filter Performance Rating) used for home air filters. Both rating systems are similar. I recently installed Allergy Zone’s FPR 12 (Filter Performance Rating) air filters on our two air intakes in our home and I will attempt to give an honest opinion on these filters based upon my limited knowledge and use. My nephew is a very reputable and highly respected HVAC professional with his own very successful business on the East coast of Florida. I asked his opinion and this was his take on home air filtration: “For my own home, I use a standard FPR 6 or FPR 8 pleated filter. These are relatively inexpensive (approximately $4.50 each). The manufacturer states to change the filter every 3 months, but I change mine monthly. This definitely keeps an appropriate air flow moving through the system which optimizes the heating and cooling systems efficiency. This in turn helps to save your HVAC system, saves on higher energy costs and for the most part eliminates costly coil cleaning services before they are needed” I personally value his opinion very highly. I have also included a small passage from Bob Villas This Old House website which basically confirms what my nephew was saying above. Attribution: From Bob Villa, This Old House Higher Is Not Better You might think that a higher MERV (minimum efficiency reporting value) rating would automatically be better, but it’s not. The higher the MERV rating, the smaller the pores are for air to flow through an HVAC filter. This can create more resistance in airflow than a system is designed to manage, thus making it inefficient. Reducing the air flow in your system can actually worsen the air quality in your home and put a damaging amount of pressure on the fan of your furnace or AC system. So it is worth doing some research. Find out what the highest MERV rated filter is that still allows for maximum airflow in your system. Change Filters Often Filters with higher MERV ratings need to be changed more frequently (at least every three months) to avoid restricted airflow that can cause your system to work inefficiently or possibly even damage it. We discovered that our MERV filters are a custom size, which makes them about three times more expensive than standard-size filters you can buy at big box stores. When you’re changing filters four times a year, that really adds up. So if you’re working with a builder to design a system, keep that in mind. As has happened so many times in this home-building journey, I discover I don’t even know what I don’t know! But figuring out what that MERV rating on my filter actually means does make me breathe a little easier. End Attribution In Summary: 1) The Allergy Zone FPR 12 filter may be appropriate for persons that suffer from chronic allergy symptoms. 2) A higher FPR value is not necessarily better. Advertising for a product most of the time highlights what will make you buy a product, i.e. “It has a higher rating, so it must be better” 3) Change filters regularly to optimize your homes heating and air condition systems performance and efficiency. Select a filter rating that matches your homes heating and cooling system. A reputable HVAC professional will be able to determine this for you. 4) Be informed. If you suffer from allergies from numerous different airborne particulate, the Allergy Zone FPR 12 filter may be an appropriate choice. Based upon my review of the Allergy Zone FPR 12 home air filter, I would rate the quality as 4 stars. They appear to be well made and the fit into our system was excellent. I have no definitive proof (other than advertising) that they actually perform as stated. I would rate the Allergy Zone FPR 12 air filter at 3 stars for value as they are roughly 3x the price of a lower FPR filter and if you do not need this higher rating why pay for it. I will add one more item. The very inexpensive filters that recommend changing every 30 days are probably not a wise choice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Allergy Filter I have terrible allergies and take 4 different allergy medications daily. Going through this Spring with the pollen count so high has been very bad for me especially at night and early morning when I get up. My wife generally doesn't have any allergy problems. But she too has been plagued this year only at night and early mornings. So I thought I would give these filters a try to see if they would help. I have had them in place for one week now and both of our allergies have reduced moderately. I am just thankful for any relief I can get. I hope the longer I have them in place the better my results will be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Filters These AllergyZone furnace and air conditioning filters live up tho my expectations for a great filter. I use them exclusively for our allergy prone family. We have 3 furnaces and central air in or two homes. They don't seem to ever clog like other and the air flows freely prolonging the life of the furnace. Four of us suffer from year round allergies. Allergy Zone has done our family a great service in their construction and hold up to their reputation as the best. Instead of changing the filters monthly I can go 3 months before changing. Price wise it is a better deal than cheap filters. They are a bit thicker than other keeping me from taping over the slot where they are fitted. I highly recommend them,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dust collector Just replaced the old standard air filter with the FPR Air Filter for Allergy Suffers filter last week after they arrived; it has already collected dust as visible on the filter surface. My wife has allergies and with the air from the heat pump circulating quite a bit during the latest cold spell has been doing quite a bit of sneezing and having headaches. After using the new filter for a week she states that the sneezing and headaches are less severe. The outside framing is much stronger than the standard filters also and seem to make a more secure fit in the filter opening.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Air improvement filter I installed two of these FPR 10 air filters about two weeks ago during the holidays when there was alot of visitor traffic in our house. These filters seem to collect more dust and dander particles and there is less dust on the furniture. We have 2 adults in the house who have frequent allergy bouts but seem to be doing better, even with this warm and humid weather in Houston. I dont have a scientific method of evaluating these filters but they seem to improve the filtration and air quality for our purpose, they are well built and are installed just like any other filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GOODBYE DUST Ok so, I have a central AC and a forced hot air system in my house, so I need to replace the systems filters year around. Installation couldn't have been easier, slides in easy and fits like a glove. With other filters always noticed dust bunnies all around the wood floor. Now haven't noticed any 3 weeks in. The family has also noticed allot less sneezing during the peak times the system is running which is basically all the time now that the winter is here. Would definitely recommend these for those with severe allergies. Only downer in my opinion is the steep price.
