Answer:
A sponge mop is fine, but a microfiber mop is much better. Always apply THIN coats. And the 1st time you apply on a floor, coat the whole floor.

How do you strip this garbage off?

I looks like someone spilled orange hair dye on my brand new (black) floor and smeared it around. My bathroom contractor attempted to remove scuff marks with this "cleaner" in one central area. Also, he did not pre-clean the entire floor before using nor did he use the polish on the entire floor as suggested in the directions right on the bottle.

The bottle says use a vinyl stripper to remove excess. What Vinyl Stripper can I trust on my brand new floor??!!
If you have hands-on experience with this stuff, please make a suggestion other than "fire the contractor".
He's gone.
Thank you

Answer:
If the polish has been misapplied, it can be easily stripped off with "New Beginnings" by Armstrong, on the flooring accessories shelves at Home Depot

This is the first time I've heard anyone have issues with Allure Single Step.

Once this is removed, and it is a vinyl based floor (you didn't specify what type it was), you can apply a new floor polish rated for it of your choice.

Answer:
Up to 750 square feet per bottle. Remember, that's 1 thin coat. We recommend 2 thin coats for a new floor. Then a thin coat when the floor begins to show wear. Perhaps 1 coat monthly.

Followed the instructions, used a slightly damp sponge mop, put down an 'S' and pulled the mop with the grain. Terrible! I thought maybe a 2nd coat would help...better but you can see every stroke! The only good thing is that it feels like it will be easier to clean. How can we not make a polish/clnr that makes the floor look like it costs! If I had known this I would put down sheet vinyl.

This product seemed to highlight scratches in my Allure vinyl floor, rather than minimize them as advertised and recommended by an Allure customer service rep. And it also left my floor shinier than I wanted, even though it is called a satin finish. I'm most disappointed in the durability of the Allure flooring - it scratches really easily, does not have a hard, scratch-resistant finish.

Unfortunately I bought 4 bottles for my whole house - I applied EXACTLY as instructions and it dried cloudy and dull. Not a satin sheen at all. On top of it all - it is VERY hard to remove! I have tried all sorts of things - this was a brand new vinyl plank floor. It is ruined - thank goodness I only did half a room before I realized the problem.

The first coat brought out the grain and gave it a slight satin shine instead of the dull look out of the box. The second coat, about a week later, showed slightly more grain and slightly darkened the overall appearance, making it really look good as well as adding a little more satin finish. I am really impressed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good cleaner, allow time to apply/dry We have had the Allure flooring in Teak in our eating area which is also the main entrance to the house, for 7 years and it looks new again after using this product. We maintain the flooring by sweeping the dirt and occasional wet mopping with vinegar/water. It has stood up to winter salt/snow, 3 teenage boys and a dog. We were so happy with the performance of the flooring, we have installed it in our living room and kitchen. This product had only a very light smell, and did give the promised finish. I gave a four stars only because it takes so much time to dry before moving the furniture back and allowing traffic on the floor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY I followed the product instructions exactly. The floor is NOT shiny as a matter of fact it's dull. The floor was cleaned before application of 2 light coats. Now I have a floor that looks worse than before I started. Buyer beware!

I didn't even try it because w just installed this new floor and after reading reviews of others that used it with very poor results, I was afraid to try it. I am going to return it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Allure Flooring.Cleaner & Polish Very good cleaner & polish especially for Allure Flooring. Liquid is watery and flows out of the bottle too easily, sometimes more than desired.
