This is not the product to use from vinyl plank to carpet. This is used to change direction when laying down the planks. Working from left to right is easy. The adhesive strip on the plank is exposed, so you just lay the next plank down (there's a groove on the underneath side of the next plank to keep all the planks level). But if you need to change direction (like filling in a bay window cut-out or going into another room), now you're trying to tuck the adhesive strip under the current plank. That can be done, but it's a lot easier to use the transition strips, then go back to working left to right. Read Less

Answer:
No. To transition from vinyl to carpet, you need a transition piece that compensates for the difference in flooring depth. I would suggest a "T" transition piece with added pieces to give you a smooth transition from vinyl to carpet.....and ,personally, I get the transition pieces that come matching your vinyl.

Answer:
Hi there Pickman,
Unfortunately no, this is not the product you are looking for. This is to change directions using the Allure flooring.
There are t-mouldings or reducers that help act as transitions from either level or multi-level surfaces that go from Allure to a different surface. These can be ordered in many of the popular styles through your local Home Depot as a special order.

I'm assuming that the 288 inches listed in the product description is the total of all 8 strips so if you divide 288 by 8 you get 36 inches and that sounds more reasonable to me.

This product is very rarely needed to do an Allure install. In three years of selling Allure, I have had to order these strips for a customer only once. These are ONLY needed if you want to change the direction of the flooring, such as running some planks at a right angle to the others.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Transition strips for vinyl tile Made the install much easier. A minimum number of characters to write a review....really! June 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Must-Have If Installing Resilient Vinyl in More Than One Room I'm a huge fan of Trafficmaster's Allure Resilient Vinyl Planks, but the first time I did an entire ranch house I didn't know about these transition strips (or perhaps they weren't available yet?) It was much more challenging when we needed to connect rooms, or "change directions" of the installation. (Meaning, if you're going from left to right and then you come around a wall and need to install more, going from right to left.) These strips eliminate that problem and are a definite "must have" if installing the planks in more than one room, or perhaps even if you're just continuing into a closet. Great, necessary product. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Makes install much easier I cannot believe that you have to order these separately and they are not carried in the store, I did several jobs on different properties before I found these transition strips listed in a small blurb in the installation instructions. They are well worth the price, you can change directions as needed and wind up with no seams in doorways etc. I will make sure I have these before I start my next job. January 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This made the job SO much easier... I realized after I started my flooring project with Allure vinyl planks that I needed to switch directions. It is hard to explain the way my room is but I was laying planks from the middle of the room lengthwise, from the middle to the south and needed to turn around and do the rest from the middle to the north. Hope that makes sense. Anyway, these strips go under the overhang and stick out just like the planks have that sticky edge that sticks out... again, hope this makes sense... so you can just motor on with your planks in the other direction. They can be a bit tricky to get positioned correctly but using the parchment paper that is between the Allure planks helps, keep that over the strip until you have it placed where you want it, then peel it out. I do wish these were explained more clearly on the HD website. I had to really search for information on how these worked. Youtube videos on how to use them would help a lot! July 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by My first attempt at DIY flooring Overall this flooring is great and easy to install. I wish the "undertransition strips" were easier to use as I was hoping to eliminate some waste pieces. I love the look and feel of the flooring. I finished the little bedroom and bathroom and am going to move on the to kitchen soon. August 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Help with creativity Love this product and will help me to be more creative July 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Necessary Product When Floor Turns 90 Degrees When your flooring turns 90 degrees (our kitchen floor makes a sharp right turn into the laundry room/hallway) this product allows you to change directions flawlessly. The planks of our new kitchen flooring run North/South and we wanted the laundry room and hallway to run East/West (it's not very wide and would have looked stupid had it run in the same direction as the kitchen.) The transition flooring strips allowed us (my wife) to do this and achieve professional results. A contractor friend of ours thought we had the floor installed by a pro. December 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great item Simple way to change direction when laying allure flooring. Very easy to use. the package however was opened and damaged when picked up but the strips were not harmed and none were missing. May 5, 2015
