Customer Questions & Answers

will this kit work in my 1907 clawfoot tub that sits in the corner of the bathroom?

Before I purchase, would this fit the claw foot tub I have in my 1907 house? It sits in the corner of the bathroom right up against the walls on the end and side. The hand held shower is in place. We have company coming from out of town, and the walk in shower is in the guest bathroom--awkward with company! thank you!

Will this work as an L-shaped rod also?

Asked by: Help
No, this particular rod will not work as an L-shaped rod. Model# 6633032H is more in line with what you are looking for: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Watts-1-in-x-5-ft-Fixed-Aluminum-L-Shower-Curtain-Rod-6633032H/100118213?keyword=6633032H

how long is the rod from the ceiling?

the rod which supports the d rod for the ceiling mount. I have 12' ceilings and need to know if the ceiling mount of long enough? thanks
Asked by: mab

Home Depot Specs say the product depth from wall is 21". Customers say it is anywhere between 25-27' in depth. Please, what are the true dimensions?

I have called Home Depot support and they say it is 21" but they have no actual item inventory to double check. They do not carry this item at my home store because it is a "specialty" item. Im hoping it is a typo and it really is 27". Any help from someone who actually purchased this product would be greatly appreciated.
Asked by: kward
Hi, We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. The correct depth dimension should be 27 inches. We are in the process of correcting this on HomeDepot.com. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thank you.

What is the full extended length? Can it adjust out from the wall??

Asked by: Anonymous
The unit is 60" wide though from the wall it is 251/2" to the inside of the tube. It does not adjust, as far as I know of, at this point in time. In the process of finding out from Watts (manufacture), If they have part to extend it from wall. It can be done but don't know if they make the parts to make the adjustment easier. Hope this helps.

We installed this over a very large double slipper claw foot tub and it fit perfectly, allowing the shower curtain to just barely drape inside the tub rim for showers, but hanging out of the way when soaking in the tub. . The lightweight nature, far from a downside made instillation that much simpler. It's plenty durable to hold a shower curtain. Looks nice. It's a winner. Only two notes. 1) It comes without any drywall anchors for the screws, given that 80+ % of instillations would be in drywall, that seems like an oversight. I had anchors that worked, but including them seems like a fair ask. 2) One common complaint is that the ceiling rod is too long and requires cutting, which then requires rethreading it. We solved this with a simple piece of all-thread, which fit perfectly (I already had it, so I can't say what the thread size is, but I can guarantee it's something fairly standard as it came off the shelf of a small mom & pop hardware store) and can be acquired at any hardware store, this works particularly well for low-ceilings in which not much of the rod is showing at all (less than 4" in our case). If you have cielings lower than 8' 6" I'd suggest picking up some all thread while you're at Home Depot or having them cut/thread it on site. (Not sure if they do such a thing....but your local plumbing supply store should).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Modification needed This is MUCH smaller than I thought it would be. The opening was for a very small tub so my Contractor and I came up with our own modifications. Thankfully, the pipes do come apart and they are hollow (pretty flimsy too...so no tugging on the shower curtain). Also their is just 1 ceiling support when we felt for better support there should be two....AND, this support provided was far too long. We inserted more pipe to widen the coverage and shortened the one ceiling support (which required re threading). We made it work. Clearly, this is not the best quality product but, the only one we could find for a standard tub.
