The unit is 60" wide though from the wall it is 251/2" to the inside of the tube. It does not adjust, as far as I know of, at this point in time. In the process of finding out from Watts (manufacture), If they have part to extend it from wall. It can be done but don't know if they make the parts to make the adjustment easier. Hope this helps.

Answer:
26.75" The only way you can adjust it, would be to shorten the length by cutting the aluminum tubing that attaches/slides into the wall mount rings. Cutting aluminum is not easy. I'd use a high speed cutting device. A chop saw would work if done carefully and with little pressure as you cut. No blades with teeth, in my opinion.

The dimensions are given with the product which is approximately 60x32 . It is not adjustable unless you want to make it smaller which is possible by cutting it to length

Yes, we used a plain white shower curtain liner for our back side and used 2 nice patterned curtains with white liners for the front section. Looks really good. the rod can be adjusted out from the wall several inch's, but the rod will not go flush with the wall, plus or minus 3/4" inch or so, which is just fine for us.

Yes you can hang a curtain on the wall rod. That is what we did at my sons new house. He had a tub with a window over it and we bought this rod to circle the tub for a shower that we hooked up. It works great until he has the cash to remodel.

the shower curtain rod is 62" in width and 27" in depth. It fits a standard 5' tub.
The 27 inches is from the wall to the outer area of the tub and the 62" is the length of the tub.

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 72 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Modification needed This is MUCH smaller than I thought it would be. The opening was for a very small tub so my Contractor and I came up with our own modifications. Thankfully, the pipes do come apart and they are hollow (pretty flimsy too...so no tugging on the shower curtain). Also their is just 1 ceiling support when we felt for better support there should be two....AND, this support provided was far too long. We inserted more pipe to widen the coverage and shortened the one ceiling support (which required re threading). We made it work. Clearly, this is not the best quality product but, the only one we could find for a standard tub. October 11, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by D rod shower curtain. It sucks. It's wobbly and does not stay in the wall mounts. October 13, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by "D" ring curtain rod. We purchased this product for our spare bathroom. When it was put together we were disappointed to discover it only pushes together and is very flimsy October 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great! Converted it to an L shower rod. We were originally looking for an L shaped shower rod for our bathroom and I happened to stumble upon this one, which I figured would work well enough and it was a better price. Well, when we got it, we started piecing it together and realized that it could be put together in an L shape and simply mounted like that without the extra poles. We have very high ceilings, so we also had to purchase a threaded rod and a coupler to extend it to the ceiling. I've included photos that show what I'm talking about, you can see the coupler about 3/4 of the way up the ceiling extension. Anyway, it worked out perfectly. Only con is that it is lacking a bit in quality, but it does what it's supposed to do. May 31, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Outdoor Shower This was a Grandparents project.Redo on an outdoor shower area for our 3 Florida Grandkids! Extra privacy! Not really deep enough ...not very much room ...but it was plenty wide ! You could fit all 3 kids standing next to each other! Wished it was deeper instead as adults will use it also! They were very helpful in finding it online for me through the store! Thanks! March 25, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install. Performs as expected This shower curtain rod was easy to install. I have a 8 foot ceiling in the bathroom I installed it in. I had to cut and re-thread the down rod, but that only took an additional 15 minutes. I also used commercial grade wall anchors to ensure the weight of the 4 shower curtains I used do not cause a mounting issue. December 12, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not fancy but it'll do. I installed this to be temporary for shower use while another bathroom was getting remodeled. The quality is decent. Install was okay BUT if you have a 8' ceiling, you WILL HAVE to cut the rod that goes to the ceiling and re-tap/thread the end. The rod is about 10" too long. ALSO, you will need wall anchors for the drywall. You will need 3 shower curatins (72" wide) to go around the entire bathtub. September 13, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It does it's job but not that sturdy Instructions were glued to box I had to guess on how to ser it up January 26, 2014
